Install it on Windows 10 or 11. On first launch, one setup window walks you through the rest.

  2. Show Kaption your game

  3. Keep playing

Kaption starts translating by itself once the game is on screen. Polish subtitles appear above the original dialogue, and after every patch the new translation downloads by itself when you start the app.

Does Wuthering Waves have Polish subtitles?

It does not. The Steam listing names 10 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai and Brazilian Portuguese. Polish is in none of the columns: not interface, not subtitles, not audio. Full voice-over exists in four languages: English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

There is one Polish fan translation. One person made it and posted it on GameBanana in August 2026 as a package with its own launcher. It is a patch that replaces game files, so it works in a completely different way from Kaption.

  • Interface: no Polish.
  • Subtitles: no Polish.
  • Voice-over: English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean.
  • Fan translation: one, and it replaces game files.

What works in the beta

Wuthering Waves is in beta in Kaption. The app recognises the game and sets the dialogue area in one click. It also tells the speaker's name apart from the line: Wuthering Waves draws names in pale gold and the line in white, so the same mechanism as in Genshin Impact works here.

The most important part is still missing: the Polish translation pack. The first one is in the works. When it is out, Kaption downloads it by itself on startup, and the Wuthering Waves updates page gets an entry on what it covers.

  • Recognising the game: works.
  • Dialogue area: set with the Detect automatically button.
  • Speaker name: told apart from the line by its colour.
  • Polish translation pack: in the works.

How to set the dialogue area in Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves shows dialogue at two heights. In the open world the name and the line sit a little higher; in story scenes they drop lower, so the frame has to cover both. On first setup Kaption sets it by itself. If Kaption has already run with another game, the frame stays where it was, so click Detect automatically after you switch.

That button fits the frame to the conversation on screen at the moment, so click it during a conversation. Then check the frame on the other kind of scene, and if it misses some of the text, fix it by hand. It should reach from the speaker's name and the gold line under it down to the last line of dialogue, with a little room on the sides. The game types text out letter by letter, so Kaption waits for a line to finish before it reads it.

  • Start the game, then open Game and subtitles in Kaption and pick Wuthering Waves. Kaption asks to restart.
  • Start a conversation in the game and click Detect automatically.
  • Click Show the frame and check it on an open-world conversation and on a story scene.
  • If something does not fit, click Adjust the frame or press Ctrl+Shift+R and select the area again.
  • Move the subtitle window outside the frame so Kaption never reads its own translation.

What Wuthering Waves is, and why there is so much text

Wuthering Waves is an open-world action RPG from Kuro Games. You wake up as Rover with no memories, in a world getting back on its feet after a catastrophe, and Resonators join you along the way. Defeated enemies can become Echoes, which work as a kind of equipment.

It launched in May 2024 on PC, iOS and Android, came to PS5 in January 2025, to Steam in April 2025 and to Xbox in July 2026. A new version lands roughly every six weeks and usually adds story, so the pile of text only grows.

It is not a patch, and it is not a mod

Kaption replaces nothing in the game. The translated text never enters the Wuthering Waves files: it is produced outside the game and drawn in a separate window on top. The game runs the ACE anti-cheat, and Kaption touches neither its files nor its process; it only reads the picture on screen.

We found no statement from Kuro Games about overlays that read the screen, so we are not going to tell you there is zero risk. What we can do is describe what the program does. The Kaption source code is public, so you can check the claim instead of taking our word for it.

  • Does not replace or modify game files.
  • Does not inject code into the game process.
  • Does not read game memory.
  • Does not automate gameplay.
  • Reads pixels from a screen region you select, the same way a recorder does.

The same app as for Genshin, Star Rail and ZZZ

Wuthering Waves joins Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. Same app, same account: you switch games on the Game and subtitles page, then click Detect automatically, because every game parks its text somewhere different on screen.

If this is your first time setting Kaption up, start with the setup guide. What the app touches on your machine and your account is covered on the safety page.

  • Genshin Impact: quests, events, NPC dialogue and dialogue choices.
  • Honkai: Star Rail: story, companion missions and events.
  • Zenless Zone Zero: story, New Eridu conversations and Inter-Knot jobs.
  • Wuthering Waves: beta, Polish pack in the works.

What we say about the game and its languages comes from the publisher's site and the Steam listing; the note on display modes comes from PCGamingWiki. If something drifts after a patch, check these first.

Before your first Wuthering Waves session with subtitles

Five minutes of setup, and you will not be left wondering why the subtitles flicker or miss a line.

  • Run the game windowed or fullscreen. According to PCGamingWiki, fullscreen in Wuthering Waves behaves like borderless windowed, so the overlay should show above it. If the subtitles flicker, switch the game to windowed.
  • On first setup, start Wuthering Waves before you reach the Game step. Kaption recognises the game and sets the frame by itself.
  • If Kaption has already run with another game, switch to Wuthering Waves, start a conversation in the game and click Detect automatically. The frame does not move with the game.
  • Click Show the frame on the Game and subtitles page. It should cover the speaker name, the gold line under it and the full text.
  • Check the frame on an open-world conversation and on a story scene, because story text sits lower.
  • Move the overlay outside the frame, or the app will start reading its own subtitles.
  • Remember Ctrl+Shift+S. It toggles translation without alt-tabbing.
  • After a major game update, click Show the frame and check that the area still fits.

Questions

Is Wuthering Waves available in Polish?

No. Steam lists 10 languages for the game and Polish is not one of them, in the interface, the subtitles or the audio. A subtitle overlay can add it, and Kaption supports Wuthering Waves in beta.

Does Kaption support Wuthering Waves?

Yes, in beta. The app recognises the game, sets the dialogue area in one click and tells the speaker's name apart from the line. The Polish translation pack is still in the works, so you will not see subtitles yet.

When will Polish subtitles for Wuthering Waves be ready?

When the first translation pack is out. We are not giving a date we cannot promise. Kaption downloads the pack by itself on startup, and the Wuthering Waves updates page will say what it covers.

How do I set the dialogue area in Wuthering Waves?

Start the game and pick Wuthering Waves on the Game and subtitles page. Start a conversation in the game, click Detect automatically, then Show the frame. If the frame misses the name or part of the line, click Adjust the frame or press Ctrl+Shift+R and select the area again. Check it on a story scene too, where the text sits lower.

Is there a fan translation of Wuthering Waves?

There is one Polish fan translation. One person made it and posted it on GameBanana in August 2026, with its own launcher. A patch like that replaces game files. Kaption is not a translation patch in that sense: it changes nothing in the game and draws subtitles in a separate window.

Can I get banned for using a subtitle overlay?

We found no statement from Kuro Games about programs that read the screen, so nobody can honestly hand you a guarantee. Wuthering Waves runs the ACE anti-cheat. What we can describe is the mechanism: Kaption reads pixels from a screen region, modifies no files, injects no code, reads no game memory and automates no gameplay. The call is yours.

Does Kaption modify Wuthering Waves game files?

No. Nothing in the Wuthering Waves install directory is replaced, added or repacked. The translated text never enters the game; it is drawn in a separate window above it. The source code is public if you want to verify that.

How do I change the language in Wuthering Waves?

In the game's own settings. Voice-over comes in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, and Polish is on neither the text list nor the audio list.

Does Kaption also work with Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero?

Yes, the same app and the same account cover all of them. You switch games on the Game and subtitles page, then click Detect automatically so the frame lands on the new game's dialogue.
