Guide
How the kit works
Outside Chainsaw Mode, attacks build Ring of Chainsaw. Moment of Nihility grants 40 points, and Reverberance - Return grants 20. At a full 100 points, use Serrated Loop (Skill) on the ground to enter Chainsaw Mode and pull nearby targets together.
Use Sawring - Blitz (Forte) to consume Ring of Chainsaw, then finish with Sawring - Eradication (Forte). The finisher grants nearby teammates Shields for 30 seconds. Each point consumed by Blitz or the Chainsaw Mode dodge counter increases its damage multiplier, up to 100 points.
Moment of Nihility heals the nearby team and grants Woven Myriad - Convergence for 15 seconds. It increases the multipliers of the Chainsaw Mode attacks and their bonus to the finisher. Use those attacks before the effect ends; the finisher also ends it.
For another heal, follow the second Basic Attack with Rending Lunge (Basic), then use Death Snip (Basic). When you switch out, Unraveling - Law Zero gives nearby teammates Resonant Thread of Closure for 20 seconds.
Build and why
The game recommends a three-piece Thread of Severed Fate set. Its effects are not listed here, so check the set in game before deciding how to complete the build. Rejuvenating Glow is another option for its 10% Healing Bonus at two pieces; Havoc Eclipse gives 10% Havoc DMG at two pieces.
Kumokiri is the first weapon choice. Its Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus suits Chisa’s Chainsaw Mode attacks, and at maximum stacks it can grant teammates 24% All-Attribute DMG Bonus when they inflict Negative Statuses.
Wildfire Mark is the next option for its Resonance Liberation DMG increase after an Intro Skill or Resonance Liberation. Its team Fusion DMG Bonus needs a Heavy Attack DMG extension. Lustrous Razor offers Energy Regen and a stacking Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus when Chisa casts her Resonance Skill.
For a four-star option, Autumntrace builds ATK stacks through Basic Attack or Heavy Attack DMG. The game’s build does not give stat targets, so treat any particular stat spread as a suggestion rather than a requirement.
Leveling priority
A good leveling order is Sight of Unraveling - Oblivion, Moment of Nihility, Reign of Silence, Fractured Composition, then Reverberance - Return. The Forte covers the Chainsaw Mode attacks and finisher, while the Liberation supports that damage window. Death Snip (Basic) is part of the Basic kit and gives Chisa another heal.
For maximum ascension, gather 170,000 Shell Credit, 4 LF Polygon Core, 12 MF Polygon Core, 12 HF Polygon Core, 4 FF Polygon Core, 46 Abyssal Husk and 60 Summer Flower.
To raise all skills to maximum, gather 2,030,000 Shell Credit, 25 LF Polygon Core, 28 MF Polygon Core, 40 HF Polygon Core, 57 FF Polygon Core, 26 When Irises Bloom, 25 Waveworn Residue 210, 28 Waveworn Residue 226, 55 Waveworn Residue 235 and 67 Waveworn Residue 239.
Resonance Chain nodes worth it
For a team-focused progression route, Into the Web of Endless Bonds (Sequence 2) is a good stopping point. Chisa ignores 10% of the target’s Havoc RES, and nearby teammates with Thread of Bane gain 50% All-Attribute DMG Bonus.
Thus, Hope is Rekindled with the Rising Dawn (Sequence 6) is worth considering later. Its upgraded mark makes targets take 30% Amplified DMG from Negative Statuses and 40% increased DMG from Chisa. It also lets her survive a fatal blow during the specified Chainsaw Mode attacks with at least 1 HP.
Across the Confusion of the Long Night (Sequence 3) is an option for Chisa’s own damage. It increases the multipliers of her Chainsaw Mode attacks and stacks with her Liberation’s effect.
Teams
Pair Chisa with damage dealers who can use her healing and Shields. Teammates who inflict Negative Statuses or deal Negative Status DMG can gain Thread of Bane through her Outro effect. An attack during that effect also raises the target’s maximum Negative Status and Electro Rage stacks by 3 for 15 seconds.
Unseen Snare is useful while teammates attack: their direct damage can trigger Chisa’s Havoc Bane application on a marked target. Switch out with Chisa’s Outro effect active when the next character can make use of its conditions.
Common mistakes
Do not rush the Chainsaw Mode finisher without spending Ring of Chainsaw if you want a stronger hit. Sawring - Blitz (Forte) and Chainsaw Mode - Dodge Counter (Forte) build its bonus as they consume the resource.
Do not leave Chisa idle in Chainsaw Mode for too long. Chainsaw Fever depletes after a period without damage; at zero, Chisa enters Burnout and leaves Chainsaw Mode. Attacking resets the fever while she is still in the mode.
Do not assume every attack heals. Death Snip (Basic) and Moment of Nihility heal nearby teammates, while Sawring - Eradication (Forte) grants Shields. Use the right move for the protection your team needs.
Keep track of the target’s mark and the Outro duration. Unseen Snare lasts 30 seconds, while Resonant Thread of Closure lasts 20 seconds. The stack-limit increase from an attack lasts 15 seconds and does not stack with itself.
