Guide
How the kit works
Bring Luuk in with Before Injection of Dawn. Press Normal Attack or Jump to start at the second mid-air attack, then continue to the third. Normal Attack uses Scythe: Dissection; Jump uses Scythe: Resection, which inflicts Tune Strain - Shifting for 25 seconds and reduces damage taken briefly.
After the third mid-air attack or fourth ground attack, use Aureole of Execution (skill). Its forms rotate from Ring to Breach to Glare. Ring and Breach reset the mid-air attack cycle and make the next Normal Attack trigger Golden Impale (skill). Repeat the air sequence to reach Glare, then press Normal Attack in mid-air for Gavel of Earthshaker (forte). It detonates the Ichor Deposit and restores all STA.
Each Aureole grants one stack of Endnotes on the Endgame, up to three. Each stack raises the damage multiplier of Rewritten in Winter's Margins by 25%, so use it after building the stacks. Switching Luuk out removes them and resets the Aureole cycle.
At 300 Ichor Flow, Spark from the Frost activates Aureate Judge. It increases the damage multipliers of the enhanced skills, consuming 100 Ichor Flow per Aureole. A teammate’s Outro Skill into Luuk can grant 200 Ichor Flow through Golden Rule; his Intro restores another 100. Golden Rule has a 24-second cooldown and does not work in Co-op.
Build and why
Use five pieces of Rite of Gilded Revelation. Its listed two-piece bonus gives 10% Spectro DMG, which suits Luuk’s attacks. Celestial Light is an alternative with the same listed two-piece bonus.
Daybreaker's Spine is the first weapon choice. It gives ATK, grants Spectro DMG Bonus after Basic Attack DMG, and rewards inflicting Tune Strain - Shifting with Basic Attack DMG Amplification and DEF ignore. Luuk can trigger both effects during his normal rotation.
Pulsation Bracer comes next: it gives ATK and builds Basic Attack DMG Bonus when Luuk damages targets affected by Tune Strain - Interfered. Blazing Justice is the next alternative, with ATK and a DEF-ignore effect after Basic Attack. Abyss Surges, Aether Strike and Celestial Spiral are other options.
Tune Break Boost is worth considering against Interfered targets. Uncaused Diagnosis amplifies direct skill damage by 5% per 10 points, up to 30%; the separate Tune Strain response also gains damage from the stat.
Leveling priority
As a suggested order, level Spark from the Frost first, then Reunion of All the Fallen. The Forte covers Aureate Judge and Gavel of Earthshaker, while the Skill contains the enhanced Aureole attacks used throughout the rotation.
Follow with Rewritten in Winter's Margins, then Such is Light, and leave Before Injection of Dawn for last. The Liberation benefits from the stacks Luuk builds during his field time; his Intro is a smaller part of that sequence.
For maximum ascension, gather 170,000 Shell Credit, 4 Fractured Exoswarm Pendant, 12 Worn Exoswarm Pendant, 12 Chipped Exoswarm Pendant, 4 Intact Exoswarm Pendant, 46 Suncoveter's Reach and 60 Edelschnee.
For all skills, gather 2,030,000 Shell Credit, 25 Fractured Exoswarm Pendant, 28 Worn Exoswarm Pendant, 40 Chipped Exoswarm Pendant, 57 Intact Exoswarm Pendant, 26 Gold in Memory, 25 LF Waveworn Shard, 28 MF Waveworn Shard, 55 HF Waveworn Shard and 67 FF Waveworn Shard.
Resonance Chain nodes worth it
For damage upgrades, my suggested order is sequence 6, then 2, then 3. Dawn Unfurling over Frostlands (sequence 6) makes Aureole, Ichor Deposit and Gavel deal 30% more damage to a target after nearby team members deal Tune Break DMG. It also adds Liberation DMG Bonus to Endnotes and increases Interfered stacks when Luuk damages an affected target.
Avalanche Roaring in Eyes (sequence 2) raises the Liberation damage multiplier and doubles the Tune Break Boost amplification rate and cap of Uncaused Diagnosis. Spine Tempered by Golden Rain (sequence 3) raises Aureole multipliers in Aureate Judge and increases the stored stack limit of Pulses Under the Snow.
Gold Kindled in Ash (sequence 1) is worth considering for its 150% Mid-air Attack DMG Bonus. You can stay at the base kit and skip further progression. Pulse Thrumming Under Rime (sequence 4) and Through the Stillness of Snowstorm (sequence 5) are optional if you do not plan to reach sequence 6; they cannot be bypassed on the way there.
Teams
Give Luuk a teammate who can use an Outro Skill before he enters. When Golden Rule is available, that swap helps fill his Ichor Flow and gives him Concerto Energy. A source of Tune Strain - Interfered is also worth looking for, since Luuk’s response and passive damage bonuses depend on the target having it.
Mornye, Sanhua and Denia are teammates named in a guide; Shorekeeper is another option. Check their kits when choosing the roles you need, including sustain. The available teammate data does not establish which of them supplies Interfered.
Luuk gives the team Tune Strain - Shifting and a higher Interfered stack limit. Pulses Under the Snow can preserve up to two Interfered stacks from defeated targets and apply them when the team uses Tune Break on a target affected by Shifting.
Common mistakes
Do not switch Luuk out in the middle of his Aureole sequence if you are trying to build Endnotes. The switch resets the skill cycle and removes the stacks. Casting his Liberation also removes the stacks, so check them before using it.
After Glare, use Gavel of Earthshaker (forte) before casting Rewritten in Winter's Margins or switching out. Either action removes the chance to use Gavel. The Deposit otherwise detonates automatically after five seconds.
Do not assume every airborne blade benefits from damage bonuses. The Ichor Blade from Radiant Reave (forte) deals fixed Spectro DMG and is not affected by any DMG Bonus. It also disappears when Luuk uses other damaging skills or leaves the field.
