Guide
How the kit works
Bring Encore in with Woolies Helpers when it is available. Its hit builds Mayhem. Use Flaming Woolies, then press the Resonance Skill button again for Energetic Welcome (Skill). Both hits also build Mayhem.
Wooly Attack has up to four consecutive attacks. After the fourth, press Basic Attack again for Wooly Strike (Basic). Normal Attack hits restore Mayhem, which has a maximum of 100.
Use Cosmos Rave to change Encore's Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Resonance Skill and Dodge Counter. The replacement Basic Attacks deal Basic Attack DMG, while the replacement Resonance Skill deals Resonance Skill DMG. Hits during Cosmos Rave restore Mayhem.
Black & White Woolies spends a full gauge when you use a Heavy Attack. Outside Cosmos Rave, Encore enters Mayhem and casts Cloudy Frenzy (Forte) when the state ends. During Cosmos Rave, she enters Cosmos' Mayhem and casts Cosmos Rupture (Forte) afterward. Both states reduce damage taken by 70% and continue if you switch characters.
When her Outro is ready, Thermal Field creates a field around the target. Enemies inside take Fusion DMG equal to 176.76% of Encore's ATK every 1.5 seconds for 6 seconds.
Build and why
Use five pieces of Molten Rift, the game's recommended set. Its two-piece bonus gives 10% Fusion DMG, which suits Encore's attacks. Flaming Clawprint is another option with the same two-piece bonus; check the remaining set effects in game before choosing a full set.
Stringmaster is the first weapon to consider. It gives 12% Attribute DMG Bonus, and dealing Resonance Skill DMG raises ATK by 12% per stack, up to two stacks for 5 seconds. It also gives another 12% ATK while the wielder is off the field, which fits the Mayhem states that continue after a switch.
Rime-Draped Sprouts gives 12% ATK and can stack Basic Attack DMG Bonus when you use a Resonance Skill on the field. Cosmic Ripples is another choice: it gives Energy Regen and builds Basic Attack DMG Bonus as Encore deals Basic Attack DMG. Both bonuses fit her changed Basic Attacks during Cosmos Rave.
For a four-star option, Augment gives 15% ATK for 15 seconds after casting Resonance Liberation. ATK, Fusion DMG Bonus and Basic Attack DMG Bonus are useful stats to consider: her Outro scales with ATK, her attacks deal Fusion DMG, and her Liberation attacks include Basic Attack DMG. Energy Regen is worth considering if you need help getting her Liberation ready.
Leveling priority
For a suggested skill order, start with Cosmos Rave, then Black & White Woolies. The first changes the attacks you use on the field; the second covers the hits you get by spending a full Mayhem gauge.
Next, level Wooly Attack, followed by Flaming Woolies and Woolies Helpers. You use the Basic and Skill to attack and build Mayhem, while the Intro is a shorter part of Encore's field time.
For maximum ascension, gather 170,000 Shell Credit, 4 LF Whisperin Core, 12 MF Whisperin Core, 12 HF Whisperin Core, 4 FF Whisperin Core, 46 Rage Tacet Core and 60 Pecok Flower.
To raise all skills to maximum, gather 2,030,000 Shell Credit, 25 LF Whisperin Core, 28 MF Whisperin Core, 40 HF Whisperin Core, 57 FF Whisperin Core, 26 Unending Destruction, 25 Lento Helix, 28 Adagio Helix, 55 Andante Helix and 67 Presto Helix. These are separate from the ascension costs.
Resonance Chain nodes worth it
For Resonance Chain upgrades, Sequence 6 is a strong option to consider. During Cosmos Rave, dealing damage grants stacks of Lost Lamb, each giving 5% ATK for 10 seconds, up to five stacks.
Sequence 3 increases the damage multiplier of Cloudy Frenzy (Forte) and Cosmos Rupture (Forte) by 40%. Sequence 1 gives 3% Fusion DMG Bonus when a Basic Attack hits, stacking up to four times for 6 seconds.
Sequence 4 is worth considering for a Fusion teammate: Cosmos Rupture gives the whole team 20% Fusion DMG Bonus for 30 seconds. Sequence 2 restores Resonance Energy under its stated conditions, while Sequence 5 gives Resonance Skill DMG Bonus. You can give those effects a lower priority if you prefer the others.
Teams
Encore wants time on the field to attack and build Mayhem. Look for teammates who can support her field time or contribute when you switch away. Changli and Sanhua are teammate options named in guides; Lupa and Brant are also listed.
You can try Encore with Changli and Shorekeeper, or with Sanhua and Verina. Those are starting points rather than fixed teams. If Encore has Sequence 4, a Fusion teammate such as Changli, Lupa or Brant can also receive its Fusion DMG Bonus. The rest of her kit does not require a particular teammate element.
Common mistakes
Do not use a Heavy Attack expecting the Mayhem finisher before the gauge is full. Watch for 100 Mayhem, and remember that Cloudy Frenzy (Forte) and Cosmos Rupture (Forte) count as Resonance Liberation DMG, not Heavy Attack DMG.
Do not forget the second press after Flaming Woolies: Energetic Welcome (Skill) deals damage and its hit restores Mayhem. During Cosmos Rave, keep an eye on Encore's HP. Angry Cosmos gives its 10% damage increase only while her HP is above 70%.
A switch does not interrupt either Mayhem state, so you do not have to keep Encore on the field just to let the state finish. On the other hand, switching is a choice, not a requirement for the finisher.
