How the kit works
Before combat, use Ninja Dash: By Leaps and Bounds to enter Graffiti for 20 seconds and rush into enemies. Entering battle this way reduces their Toughness by 30 regardless of Weakness Type, deals Imaginary Break DMG and restores 10 Energy.
Outside Sealform, Ninja Strike: Rooted Resolute hits all enemies, while Ninjutsu: Rise Above Tumbles hits one. Use Nindō Supreme: Aishiteru to enter Sealform, gain an extra turn and receive 3 Chroma Ink. The state also grants 50% Weakness Break Efficiency and 30% Break Effect.
In Sealform, use Ningu: Demonbane Petalblade. Its first two hits strike a target and adjacent enemies; the third hits everyone. Each use consumes one Chroma Ink, and Sealform ends when the ink runs out. Skill and Ultimate are unavailable during it. The enhanced attack does not recover Skill Points and reduces Toughness against enemies without Imaginary Weakness at 50% of the original effect.
Ninja Tech: Endurance Gauge gives Rappa one Charge whenever an enemy is Weakness Broken, up to 10. The third hit of her enhanced Basic consumes all Charge and deals extra Break DMG to all enemies. Each Charge increases its Break DMG multiplier by 50% and its Toughness Reduction by 1. Breaking an elite or stronger enemy also gives her an extra Charge and 10 Energy.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge for Break Effect and DEF ignore. At 150% Break Effect, Break DMG ignores 10% DEF; at 250%, Super Break DMG ignores an extra 15% DEF. For the planar set, Talia: Kingdom of Banditry gives 16% Break Effect and another 20% at 145 SPD.
Thief of Shooting Meteor is an alternative four-piece set: it gives 32% Break Effect in total and restores 3 Energy when Rappa inflicts Weakness Break. Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern is another planar option, with 6% SPD and 40% Break Effect for one turn after hitting an enemy with Fire Weakness.
Choose ATK Percentage on the body and sphere, SPD on the feet, and Break Effect or Energy Regeneration Rate on the rope. Prioritize Break Effect, then SPD, then ATK Percentage in substats. ATK also strengthens Rappa's passive: above 2400 ATK, every 100 excess ATK increases the Break DMG taken by a newly broken enemy, up to an extra 8%.
Ninjutsu Inscription: Dazzling Evilbreaker is the first weapon choice. It gives 60% Break Effect, 30 Energy on entering battle and an action advance after two Basic ATKs following Ultimate. After the Charmony Fall gives 28% Break Effect and 8% SPD for two turns after Ultimate. Make the World Clamor is another option for its 20 starting Energy, though its Ultimate DMG bonus does not strengthen her enhanced Basic.
Leveling priority
Follow the game’s order: Ninja Tech: Endurance Gauge first, then Ninjutsu: Rise Above Tumbles, Nindō Supreme: Aishiteru and Ninja Strike: Rooted Resolute. The Talent comes first because its extra Break DMG is tied to Charge. Basic follows for Rappa’s main attack sequence, while Ultimate comes before the Skill she uses outside Sealform.
Ascension uses Credit, Chordal Mirage, Dream Collection Component, Dream Flow Valve and Dream Making Engine. Her skills also use Credit and the three Dream materials, plus Tracks of Destiny, Rough Sketch, Dynamic Outlining, Exquisite Colored Draft and Lost Echo of the Shared Wish.
Eidolons worth it
For a suggested Eidolon priority, look at Righteous Is the Wrath That Spares No Evil first. Rappa starts battle with 5 Charge, raises the cap by 5 and gains another 5 after the third hit of her enhanced Basic. That gives her Talent more Charge to spend.
Returned Is the Revenant With No Ferry Toll is a useful earlier stopping point: Rappa ignores 15% DEF during Sealform and restores 20 Energy after leaving it. Free Is the Mind Enlightened by Haikus increases the first two enhanced Basic hits’ Toughness Reduction against their designated target by 50%.
If you do not plan to reach E6, you can stop at E1 or E2 and leave E3 through E5. E3 and E5 raise skill levels, while E4 gives allies 12% SPD during Sealform.
Teams
Rappa contributes damage against groups and can reduce Toughness without matching Imaginary Weakness. When an enemy becomes Weakness Broken, her passive also increases the Break DMG that enemy takes for two turns.
Common mistakes
Do not expect the enhanced Basic to restore Skill Points. Plan around the three Chroma Ink uses, since Rappa cannot use her Skill or Ultimate until Sealform ends.
Do not ignore Break Effect thresholds when equipping Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge, or the 145 SPD condition on Talia: Kingdom of Banditry. Also remember that reducing Toughness without Imaginary Weakness is less effective for the enhanced Basic, even though the Talent’s extra hit can ignore Weakness Type.
Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations has a useful two-piece Break Effect bonus, but its four-piece effect requires an Ultimate used on an ally. Rappa’s Ultimate enters Sealform, so do not build around her activating that team bonus.
