How the kit works
Start a fight with Artisan Elixir when available. It attacks enemies, applies Besotted to all of them for 2 turns and deals Fire DMG equal to 50% of Gallagher’s ATK. Besotted makes targets take 12% more Break DMG.
Once the fight starts, allies attacking a Besotted target recover HP through Tipsy Tussle. At the listed value, the attacker restores 640 HP. Use Special Brew when one ally needs an immediate heal; its listed value is 1600 HP.
Use Champagne Etiquette to apply Besotted to every enemy for 2 turns and deal Fire DMG equal to 150% of Gallagher’s ATK. It also turns his next Basic ATK into Nectar Blitz. Organic Yeast immediately advances his action by 100% after the Ultimate.
Aim Nectar Blitz at a Besotted enemy. It deals Fire DMG equal to 250% of Gallagher’s ATK and lowers that target’s ATK by 15% for 2 turns. With Bottoms Up unlocked, this attack also applies the Talent’s HP restoration to teammates. Outside that enhanced attack, Corkage Fee deals Fire DMG equal to 100% of his ATK to one enemy.
Novel Concoction converts 50% of Gallagher’s Break Effect into Outgoing Healing, up to a 75% increase. That cap is reached at 150% Break Effect; it does not cap his healing from other sources.
Build and why
Warrior Goddess of Sun and Thunder is a strong four-piece choice. Its two-piece effect gives 6% SPD. After Gallagher heals an ally other than himself, the four-piece effect gives him another 6% SPD and gives all allies 15% CRIT DMG for 2 turns; it can trigger once per turn.
Passerby of Wandering Cloud is another recommended four-piece option. It gives 10% Outgoing Healing and restores 1 Skill Point at the start of battle. For the planar set, Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern gives 6% SPD and, after Gallagher hits an enemy with Fire Weakness, 40% Break Effect for 1 turn.
Thief of Shooting Meteor is an alternative if you want more Break Effect: its two-piece and four-piece effects each give 16%, and the full set restores 3 Energy when the wearer inflicts Weakness Break. Talia: Kingdom of Banditry gives 16% Break Effect, plus 20% more at 145 SPD.
Use Outgoing Healing Boost on the body and SPD on the feet. Pick HP Percentage or DEF Percentage for the sphere, and Break Effect or Energy Regeneration Rate for the rope. Among substats, look for SPD first, then Break Effect and Effect RES.
Scent Alone Stays True is the top Light Cone choice. It gives 60% Break Effect and applies Woefree after Gallagher attacks with his Ultimate, increasing damage taken by affected enemies. Night of Fright offers Energy Regeneration Rate, healing and an ATK increase. Quid Pro Quo restores Energy to a random other ally below 50% Energy at the start of Gallagher’s turn.
What Is Real? is an option for Break Effect and self-healing after Basic ATK. Multiplication advances Gallagher’s next action after he uses Basic ATK, which is useful when you want him to act more often.
Leveling priority
Follow the game’s order: raise Tipsy Tussle first for the healing tied to Besotted, then Special Brew for the direct heal. Raise Champagne Etiquette next and Corkage Fee last.
For maximum ascension, you need 246,400 Credit, 50 Raging Heart, 12 Dream Collection Component, 13 Dream Flow Valve and 12 Dream Making Engine.
For all skills, you need 2,400,000 Credit, 5 Tracks of Destiny, 12 Alien Tree Seed, 54 Nourishing Honey, 105 Myriad Fruit, 12 Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster, 28 Dream Collection Component, 42 Dream Flow Valve and 42 Dream Making Engine.
Eidolons worth it
Lion’s Tail (E2) is a good upgrade to aim for: Special Brew dispels 1 debuff from its target and gives them 30% Effect RES for 2 turns. That adds protection the base Skill does not provide.
Last Word is worth considering for longer Besotted coverage. It extends the state applied by Gallagher’s Ultimate by 1 turn. Blood and Sand gives him 20% Break Effect and 20% Weakness Break Efficiency, making it a useful later upgrade for a Break build.
Salty Dog gives Gallagher 20 Energy on entering battle and 50% Effect RES. If you are choosing what to pursue, Corpse Reviver and Death in the Afternoon are easier to skip: they raise existing skill levels rather than adding a new mechanic.
Common mistakes
Do not attack an unaffected enemy with Nectar Blitz and expect the team heal from Bottoms Up. The target must have Besotted for that extra restoration to apply.
Do not assume the Skill removes debuffs at the start of Gallagher’s progression. That effect comes from Lion’s Tail (E2). Until then, use the Skill for its direct heal.
Do not count on every Break Effect set to give its full bonus automatically. Talia: Kingdom of Banditry needs 145 SPD for its extra Break Effect, while Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern requires a hit on an enemy with Fire Weakness. Messenger Traversing Hackerspace and Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations have four-piece effects that require an Ultimate used on an ally; Gallagher’s Ultimate targets enemies.
