How the kit works
Use Immortal Third Strike when the team needs a heal: it immediately restores 15% of each ally's own Max HP. At the start of battle, Ready for Battle gives Trailblazer 15 Energy.
In combat, Farewell Hit deals Physical DMG equal to 100% of ATK to one enemy. RIP Home Run deals 125% of ATK to the target and adjacent enemies. Fighting Will increases the damage dealt to the main target by the Skill and the Blast Ultimate mode by 25%.
With Stardust Ace, choose Blowout: Farewell Hit for 450% of ATK against one target. Blowout: RIP Home Run instead deals 270% to the target and 162% to adjacent enemies. Pick the attack that fits the enemies you want to hit.
Each Weakness Break inflicted by Trailblazer gives Perfect Pickoff one 20% ATK stack, up to two stacks. Tenacity also gives 10% DEF per Talent stack. Trailblazer must inflict the break to gain the stack, so pay attention when another teammate is close to breaking the same enemy.
Build and why
Scholar Lost in Erudition is the first four-piece set to consider: it gives 8% CRIT Rate and increases Skill and Ultimate DMG by 20%. After an Ultimate, it gives the next Skill another 25% DMG. Pair it with Rutilant Arena for 8% CRIT Rate; at 70% current CRIT Rate, that planar set also boosts Basic ATK and Skill DMG by 20%.
Wavestrider Captain is another four-piece option. It gives 16% CRIT DMG, and two stacks gained from being targeted by another ally's abilities are consumed on Ultimate to give 48% ATK for one turn. Champion of Streetwise Boxing is an alternative: its Physical DMG bonus fits every attack, and its four-piece effect builds ATK when Trailblazer attacks or is hit.
For main stats, use CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on body, SPD on feet, Physical DMG Boost on sphere and ATK Percentage on rope. For substats, follow CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK Percentage, then SPD in that order. Keep Rutilant Arena's CRIT Rate threshold in mind when choosing the body piece.
On the Fall of an Aeon is the first Light Cone to consider: attacks build ATK, while inflicting Weakness Break gives a two-turn DMG increase. Thus Burns the Dawn offers base SPD and DEF ignore, plus a DMG boost after Ultimate that ends at the start of the wearer's turn. Something Irreplaceable gives ATK and can heal and increase DMG after a defeat or a hit. Brighter Than the Sun is another option if you use Basic ATK to build its stacks.
Leveling priority
Follow the game's order: level Stardust Ace first for its two strong attack modes, then RIP Home Run for damage to the target and adjacent enemies. Next raise Perfect Pickoff for its ATK gain, and leave Farewell Hit until last.
For maximum ascension, gather 246,400 Credit, 28 Enigmatic Ectostella, 12 Thief's Instinct, 13 Usurper's Scheme and 12 Conqueror's Will.
For all skills, the listed total is 2,400,000 Credit, 5 Tracks of Destiny, 12 Shattered Blade, 54 Lifeless Blade, 105 Worldbreaker Blade, 12 Destroyer's Final Road, 28 Thief's Instinct, 42 Usurper's Scheme and 42 Conqueror's Will.
Eidolons worth it
For new effects, I would look at A Trailblazing Will first. It lets the Talent trigger when Trailblazer defeats an enemy, giving you another way to build its ATK stacks besides inflicting Weakness Break.
A Destructing Glance is another useful option: it gives 25% CRIT Rate when attacking a Weakness Broken enemy. A Falling Star returns 10 Energy when the Ultimate defeats enemies, though it can trigger only once per attack.
If you are interested in new mechanics rather than skill levels, A Leading Whisper and A Surviving Hope are lower priorities to focus on. They raise skill levels instead of adding a separate effect. An Unwilling Host is a source of personal healing when attacking enemies with Physical Weakness.
Teams
A buffer is a good partner for a damage-focused Trailblazer, while a healer or shielder can keep the team alive. The Technique heals everyone, but its 15% heal is limited. Trailblazer's attacks give the team a way to deal Physical DMG to either one enemy or a group around the main target.
Look for enemies with Physical Weakness when you want Trailblazer to build Talent stacks through Weakness Break. Teammates who can damage other weaknesses are useful when the fight has mixed enemy types. If you use Woof! Walk Time!, its extra damage requires the enemy to have Burn or Bleed, so plan around that condition rather than assuming it is always active.
Common mistakes
Do not always pick the same Ultimate mode. The single-target version hits one enemy harder, while the Blast version also damages adjacent enemies. Check their positions before choosing.
Do not assume every team Weakness Break gives Trailblazer a Talent stack. Trailblazer needs to inflict it. Likewise, the CRIT Rate from E4 applies against Weakness Broken enemies, not every target.
Do not count Rutilant Arena's damage bonus before reaching 70% current CRIT Rate. Balance the body stat and substats around that requirement, and remember that the Technique's team heal does not remove the need to plan for incoming damage.
