Guide
How the kit works
Core Passive: Radiant Chariot gives Pyrois 30 Solar Prominence on entering battle. Different attacks grant more, and combat supplies another 0.5 per second, up to 60. In Investigation Zone, the entry gain can trigger once every 180 seconds. Use Basic Attack: Emberglow for up to three Ether hits while building the resource.
At 30 or more Solar Prominence, hold Basic Attack to use Basic Attack: Celestial Light. Its hits consume the resource, and Pyrois is invulnerable during hits three and four. Switch characters during hit three and Pyrois finishes hit four off-field. EX Special Attack: Sun's Halo (Special) lets you hold after the move to jump straight to hit three if you have at least 30 Solar Prominence. A hit during its charge triggers a Perfect Block that nullifies the damage.
Chain Attack: Ceremonial March can also lead into hit three: press or hold after it with enough Solar Prominence. At Blasting Decibel Rating, choose an Ultimate branch. Ultimate: Triumphant Return, the lower branch, gives 40% DMG and 15% Energy Generation Rate for 200 seconds. A Perfect Block with the EX Special Attack grants 10 Solar Prominence during that state.
Ultimate: Total Annihilation, the upper branch, grants 30 Solar Prominence and a 21-second Mirage state. During Mirage, Ultimate gains 40% CRIT DMG against Stunned enemies, and holding during hit four can restart hit three if you have at least 30 Solar Prominence. Ultimate: Unbound Swordstorm deals an extra 900% of ATK when its heavy attack hits an enemy in Contamination. Ultimate: Eternal Imprisonment extends current Stun durations by 3 seconds; its heavy hit deals an extra 2,250% of ATK to a Stunned enemy, whose Stunned state ends after the finishing move.
Build and why
Use four pieces of The Sky Ablaze. The two-piece bonus gives 10% Ether DMG, while the four-piece effect gives an Ether agent 30% CRIT DMG. An EX Special Attack or Ultimate also grants 10% ATK for 30 seconds. Add two pieces of Woodpecker Electro for 8% CRIT Rate, or Branch & Blade Song for 16% CRIT DMG.
Puffer Electro is an alternative four-piece set worth considering. It gives 8% PEN Ratio from two pieces and increases Ultimate DMG by 20% from four. Using an Ultimate also gives 15% ATK for 12 seconds. It fits a build that wants more damage from those Ultimate branches.
For disc 4, choose CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG. Use Ether DMG Bonus or PEN Ratio on disc 5 and Percent ATK on disc 6. For substats, favor CRIT Rate first, then CRIT DMG and Percent ATK.
Sol Exuvia is the first weapon choice. It gives 20% CRIT Rate and its Eclipse effect lets Pyrois' damage ignore 16% Ether RES. Pyrois gains Eclipse on entering combat or using an Ultimate. Riot Suppressor Mark VI comes next: its EX Special Attack charges boost Ether damage from Basic Attacks or Dash Attacks. Cordis Germina is another option for CRIT Rate and, at two stacks, DEF ignore on Basic Attack and Ultimate damage. Its Electric DMG bonus does not match Pyrois' Ether attacks.
Leveling priority
The game's leveling order starts with Core Passive: Radiant Chariot, followed by Chain Attack: Ceremonial March, then Basic Attack: Emberglow. The passive governs Solar Prominence and the Ultimate branch effects, while the Chain and Basic attacks feed into the main damage sequence.
Next come Special Attack: Fading Rays, Quick Assist: Duskguard, and finally Dodge: Twilight. The Special category matters for the EX move that can lead into the stronger Basic Attack; the Assist and Dodge options give Pyrois ways to respond to enemy attacks.
For maximum ascension, gather 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Attack Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Attack Certification Seal and 30 Pioneer's Certification Seal. For all skills, gather 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Ether Chip, 75 Advanced Ether Chip, 250 Specialized Ether Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Timeworn Husk and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Deep Erosion Circuit.
Mindscapes worth it
Shadows of Twilight Past is worth considering for its 8% CRIT Rate and 1,000 Decibels on entering the battlefield. In Investigation Zone, the Decibel gain can trigger once every 180 seconds. Blazing Cavalry is another option: Ultimate: Triumphant Return grants 1,500 Decibels once every 180 seconds, and the Decibel limit rises by 1,000.
Balefire Horizon is worth considering if you use Perfect Blocks. It grants a shield equal to 8% of Max HP for 10 seconds after a Perfect Block with the EX Special Attack, and Pyrois deals 10% extra Daze while shielded. Chains of Fate and Youthful Guardian give skill levels rather than new effects, so you can skip them if those effects are your priority. Morning Star at Dawn has a hidden effect in the supplied data, so its value cannot be judged here.
Teams
Bring a Stun or Support agent to activate Additional Ability: Glorious Legion. It gives Pyrois 40% CRIT DMG, and a Chain Attack grants 300 Decibels. A Stun teammate also helps set up the Ultimate effects that care about enemies being Stunned.
Pyrois contributes Ether damage on-field and can finish the fourth hit of the enhanced Basic Attack off-field after a switch. That gives you a chance to bring another agent in without abandoning that hit.
Common mistakes
Do not spend Solar Prominence without watching the counter. You need at least 30 to start the enhanced Basic Attack or use the listed shortcuts into hit three. After an EX Special Attack, hold the button rather than expecting the follow-up to happen automatically.
Do not use the right Ultimate branch without considering Stun timing. It extends current Stun durations, but the target's Stunned state ends after the finishing move. The left branch's extra damage instead requires its heavy attack to hit an enemy in Contamination.
Do not build around a weapon's attribute bonus just because its other effects look useful. Cordis Germina gives Pyrois usable CRIT Rate and DEF ignore, but its Electric DMG bonus does not boost Ether attacks.
