Guide
How the kit works
Start with EX Special Attack: Bubblegum Barrage (Special) when Sunna has enough Energy. It puts Bubblegum into combat and gives the squad Angelic Chord-ination for 40 seconds. Hold the input to follow it with EX Special Attack: Special Photography Technique (Special). This activates Ether Veil: Delusion Reprise and gives the squad 50 ATK for 40 seconds. Landing either heavy attack triggers a Quick Assist, so you can bring in a teammate.
Off-field, Basic Attack: Naughty Cat Spotted consumes one Claw Sharpener to attack when no enemy has Cat's Gaze. Ether Veil activations grant Sunna two Claw Sharpeners, and applying an Attribute Anomaly grants one, at most once every 10 seconds. She can hold six. Ultimate: Smash It All! grants six on its heavy attack and heals the squad if its downward hit lands.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Moonlight Lullaby. Its two-piece bonus gives 20% Energy Regen, while its four-piece bonus gives the squad 18% more DMG for 25 seconds when a Support uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate. Sunna can activate it as part of her normal setup.
For the remaining two slots, Swing Jazz gives another 20% Energy Regen; Astral Voice gives 10% ATK. Four-piece Astral Voice is another option: Quick Assists build stacks that increase the entering character's DMG. Four-piece Swing Jazz instead boosts squad DMG after a Chain Attack or Ultimate.
Choose Percent ATK on discs 4 and 5 and Energy Regen on disc 6. Look for Percent ATK and ATK substats. Initial ATK raises Sunna's Core Passive bonus up to its cap, while Energy Regen helps her access her EX Special Attack.
Thoughtbop is the first weapon choice. It gives off-field Energy Regen and builds a squad DMG buff when Sunna's EX Special Attack deals Physical DMG. Weeping Cradle is next: it also gives off-field Energy Regen and increases damage against enemies Sunna hits. Kaboom the Cannon is another option, giving the squad stacking ATK when allies hit enemies.
Leveling priority
The game's leveling order is Core Passive, Special Attack, Chain Attack, Basic Attack, Assist, then Dodge. Start with the passive for Sunna's support and Cat's Gaze mechanics, then improve the Special Attack group she uses to set up the squad.
For maximum ascension, you need 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Support Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Support Certification Seal and 30 Ruler Certification Seal. Maxing all skills takes a separate 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Physical Chip, 75 Advanced Physical Chip, 250 Specialized Physical Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Clouded Crystalline Substance and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Bloodstained Miasma Feather.
Mindscapes worth it
Feline Go-With-the-Flow (M2) is worth considering for a support build. While Sunna is within any Ether Veil, it gives the squad 10% ATK and gives her one Claw Sharpener every 10 seconds. It also reduces the attacks needed to trigger Cat's Gaze and raises its damage multiplier.
Hollow Big Bang (M6) is another option if you want Sunna to spend more time attacking. After an EX Special Attack, she can trigger Cat's Gaze herself for 8 seconds. During that state, damage from any squad member's Cat's Gaze triggers increases by 50%. Loneliness Corruption Symptoms (M1) is useful to consider for its stacking DEF reduction when Cat's Gaze triggers.
For a support-focused setup, you can leave Transformation Apple (M3) and Galaxy Tramway (M5) for later: they add levels to the listed combat skills rather than to Core Passive. Delusion Investigation Team (M4) gives the squad 18% more DMG for 60 seconds after Sunna uses her Ultimate.
Teams
Bring an Attack or Anomaly character to trigger Cat's Gaze. Another Attack character or a member of Sunna's faction also activates her Additional Ability: attacks by characters inside Ether Veil: Delusion Reprise increase the target's Stun DMG Multiplier by 30% for 40 seconds. A Stun teammate can help create the windows where Cat's Gaze takes fewer attacks to trigger.
Common mistakes
Don't assume Bubblegum will attack off-field whenever Sunna has a Claw Sharpener. The automatic attack also requires that no enemy has Cat's Gaze. Switch to an Attack or Anomaly teammate and keep hitting the marked target to trigger it.
Don't treat the 3,500 initial ATK cap as a reason to ignore Energy Regen. Sunna still needs Energy for her EX Special Attack setup. Also, reactivating Ether Veil: Delusion Reprise cancels its existing instance; it does not keep two instances active.
Don't expect the Ultimate heal without landing the downward attack on an enemy. Its Claw Sharpeners come from the heavy attack, so watch both parts of the move.
