Guide
How the kit works
Hold Basic Attack: Frostbite Embrace to charge up to three levels. Charging consumes HP but cannot take Yidhari below 25% of Max HP. After a charge of at least two levels, follow up with the third hit of Basic Attack: Crushing Strike, which restores 10% HP.
While charging, Frost's Crushing Weight reduces damage from a blocked hit by 25%. If Yidhari is not yet fully charged, she counters and gains one charge level. Special Attack: Surging Cold, Crushing Pursuit can also raise the charge to maximum: collide with an enemy attack to trigger Surging Cold, or hit a Stunned enemy with sufficient Adrenaline to trigger Crushing Pursuit.
After either trigger, use EX Special Attack: Glacial Crush (Special) if you have enough Adrenaline, then follow with the charged finishing slam. If Glacial Crush hits, it restores 33% of missing HP. EX Special Attack: Frost Coil (Special) has the same healing condition and amount.
At maximum Decibel Rating, certain finishing attacks spend 3,000 Decibels to activate Ether Veil: Wellspring. Inside it, charging is faster and consumes HP faster. The Veil also gives the squad 5% Max HP for 30 seconds. After activating it, use Ultimate: Final Act - Crossing the River of Regret within 30 seconds; each activation allows one Ultimate.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Yunkui Tales and two pieces of Woodpecker Electro. Yunkui Tales gives HP and builds CRIT Rate stacks through EX Special Attacks, Chain Attacks or Ultimates. At three stacks it also gives 10% Sheer DMG. Woodpecker Electro supplies 8% CRIT Rate; two pieces of Branch & Blade Song are an alternative for 16% CRIT DMG.
On disc 4, choose CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG. On disc 5, use Ice DMG Bonus or Percent HP; on disc 6, use Percent HP. For substats, look for CRIT Rate first, then CRIT DMG and Percent HP. HP feeds Sheer Force, while the CRIT stats support her damage.
Kraken's Cradle is the first weapon choice. HP loss builds Ice Sheer DMG stacks, and reaching 50% HP or below gives 20% CRIT Rate. Grill O'Wisp is an alternative: its Fire DMG bonus does not help her Ice attacks, but losing HP grants CRIT Rate. Cauldron of Clarity is another option, giving DMG stacks from EX Special Attacks and CRIT Rate at three stacks.
Leveling priority
Follow the game's order: Core Passive: Dreamscape Collection, Basic Attack, Special Attack, Chain Attack, Assist, then Dodge. The Core Passive sets up the Max HP and Sheer Force conversion. Basic Attack covers her charged hammer attacks, while Special Attack improves the attacks used around them.
To ascend her fully, you need 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Rupture Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Rupture Certification Seal and 30 Arbiter Certification Seal.
For all skills at maximum, gather 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Freeze Chip, 75 Advanced Freeze Chip, 250 Specialized Freeze Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Crimson Miasma Spike and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Corrupted Dreamsteel.
Mindscapes worth it
For Mindscapes, The Past Lost Beneath the Abyss is a good first target to consider. It reduces EX Special Attack Adrenaline costs by 10, lets you chain into another Glacial Crush by giving up the first heal, and makes Basic and EX Special Attacks ignore 20% Ice RES.
At Last, a Peaceful Dream is another substantial option: after spending Decibels on the Veil, Yidhari gains 25% Sheer DMG for 30 seconds and an effect that protects her from defeat after the first fatal hit. Who Lingers Here, Lost in Thought? gives 40% CRIT DMG and Adrenaline regen after Surging Cold or Crushing Pursuit.
If you stop at M2, you can skip the later upgrades. M3 and M5 add skill levels, while M4 improves Decibel gain from HP loss and adds Max HP inside the Veil.
Teams
Bring a Stun or Support character to activate Additional Ability: Narrative Completion. Below 50% HP, it gives Yidhari 30% CRIT DMG and reduces damage taken by 25%. Inside Ether Veil: Wellspring, a level-three charged attack or Glacial Crush can also summon an extra tentacle attack once every 12 seconds.
Yidhari, Lucia and Dialyn are a team to consider: Lucia is an Ether Support with buffer and Ether Veil tags, while Dialyn is a Physical Stun character. Lycaon and Soukaku are an Ice Stun and Support pairing. Ju Fufu can provide the Stun slot alongside Pan Yinhu, whose roster tags include sustain.
Yidhari gives the whole squad Max HP through her Veil. She can also use Defensive Assist: Flashquake Rejection to parry and deal Daze before returning to her attacks.
Common mistakes
Don't treat the 25% charging floor as protection from enemy damage. Watch incoming attacks and use the block or a dodge; charging itself won't lower HP past the floor, but enemy hits can still hurt.
Don't heal automatically whenever HP drops. Low HP increases damage, and the maximum Core Passive bonus remains for five seconds after HP is restored to 50%. At the same time, use healing when you need it rather than risking defeat.
Don't forget the follow-up after a two-level charge, or the Ultimate window after activating the Veil. Also avoid building around Fire DMG just because an alternative weapon grants it: Yidhari's attacks deal Ice DMG.
