How the kit works
Vivian gains 2 Flight Feathers upon entering the battlefield. With enough Energy, use EX Special Attack: Violet Requiem (Special) to gain 3 more and enter Fluttering Frock. Switching characters in this state automatically uses Basic Attack: Fluttering Frock - Suspension, converting all Flight Feathers into Guard Feathers. You can store up to 5 Guard Feathers.
Another route is Basic Attack: Feathered Strike. Its fourth hit enters Noblewoman. From there, Basic Attack: Noblewoman - Waltz restores a Flight Feather on hit and normally leads into Fluttering Frock if feathers are available. A Perfect Dodge during its dash grants another Flight Feather.
Once you switch out, a squad member's EX Special Attack can spend a Guard Feather to trigger Basic Attack: Featherbloom. This happens at most once per skill use. Core Passive: Dirge of Destiny makes Featherbloom trigger Abloom against enemies suffering Ether, Electric, Fire, Physical, Ice or Wind Anomaly. Its damage depends on the original Anomaly's damage and Vivian's Anomaly Proficiency.
Suspension or Featherbloom also applies Vivian's Prophecy to an enemy suffering any Attribute Anomaly. It deals Ether DMG equal to 55% of Vivian's ATK every 0.55 seconds and expires when the Anomaly ends. With another Anomaly or Ether character in the squad, Additional Ability: Prophetic Tears lets another squad member's Attribute Anomaly application trigger Featherbloom too, once every 0.5 seconds.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Phaethon's Melody and two of Freedom Blues. Phaethon's Melody gives Anomaly Mastery and, after any squad member uses an EX Special Attack, 45 Anomaly Proficiency for 8 seconds. An EX Special Attack from someone else also gives the wearer 25% Ether DMG. That fits Vivian's off-field follow-ups. Two pieces of Freedom Blues add 30 Anomaly Proficiency; two pieces of Chaos Jazz give the same stat bonus.
For main stats, take Anomaly Proficiency on disc 4, Ether DMG Bonus on disc 5 and Anomaly Mastery on disc 6. Look for Anomaly Proficiency first and Percent ATK second among substats. Anomaly Proficiency improves Abloom, while ATK contributes to Vivian's Prophecy.
Flight of Fancy is the first weapon choice. It raises Anomaly Buildup Rate by 40% and builds Anomaly Proficiency stacks when the wearer deals Ether DMG. Weeping Gemini is the next choice: squad members applying Attribute Anomalies grant Anomaly Proficiency stacks, which expire when the target recovers from Stun or is defeated. Electro-Lip Gloss is another option, giving ATK and extra damage against an affected target while an enemy has an Attribute Anomaly.
Leveling priority
Follow the game's order: Core Passive: Dirge of Destiny first, then Basic Attack, Special Attack, Chain Attack, Assist and Dodge. The passive governs Abloom and Vivian's Prophecy, so start with the mechanic behind her damage against affected enemies. Basic Attack comes next because her feather conversion and off-field follow-up are Basic Attacks.
For maximum ascension, you need 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Anomaly Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal and 30 Controller Certification Seal. For all skills, you need another 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Ether Chip, 75 Advanced Ether Chip, 250 Specialized Ether Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Sycophant's Refinement and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Thunderous Dragon.
Mindscapes worth it
For a large late upgrade, consider Vivian (M6). It adds 40% Ether DMG and changes Basic Attack: Fluttering Frock - Suspension: the attack consumes Guard Feathers to strengthen a special Abloom, up to five times its original damage. It also grants an extra Flight Feather when using EX Special Attack: Violet Requiem (Special), or when the dash from Basic Attack: Noblewoman - Waltz triggers a Perfect Dodge.
Earlier, Stormy Night, Stormy Night (M2) is a useful target for its Ether Anomaly Buildup Rate, stronger Anomaly Proficiency benefits for Abloom and RES ignore. Walking Into the Orchard in Spring (M1) increases Attribute Anomaly and Disorder damage received by enemies under Vivian's Prophecy and returns a Flight Feather after four Guard Feathers are consumed.
Another and the Same (M3) and Sonnet (M5) add skill levels rather than new mechanics. If those levels are not your goal, consider stopping earlier; you still have to pass them to reach later Mindscapes.
Teams
Pair Vivian with another Anomaly character to enable Additional Ability: Prophetic Tears and give her enemies with Attribute Anomalies to attack. Jane is a Physical Anomaly option, while Yanagi brings Electric Anomaly and Velina brings Wind Anomaly. Their attributes give you different Anomalies to work with alongside Vivian's Ether.
For the remaining slot, consider a Support or a defensive character. Yuzuha is a Physical Support with Anomaly and Disorder tags; Nicole is an Ether Support who also satisfies Vivian's additional-ability condition. Caesar is a Physical Defense option with a sustain tag. Vivian gives these teams off-field Ether damage, and her additional ability increases squad Corruption damage and Corruption's Disorder damage by 12%.
Common mistakes
Do not switch out before entering Fluttering Frock if you want the automatic Basic Attack: Fluttering Frock - Suspension. Flight Feathers need to become Guard Feathers before off-field Basic Attack: Featherbloom can spend them.
Do not assume the automatic dodge from Dodge: Dainty Steps is a Perfect Dodge. It gives invulnerability once per entry into Noblewoman, but it does not trigger Perfect Dodge. Also watch the enemy's Anomaly: Vivian's Prophecy ends when that status ends, so feathers alone will not keep it active.
