Guide
How the kit works
Start with Windchimes & Oaths (Special) to enter Idyllic Cadenza. The attack triggers a Quick Assist when it hits. You can hold it to draw enemies in and release more Tremolos, then switch to the teammate you want to support.
In Idyllic Cadenza, Astra cannot move, takes 40% less DMG and has increased Anti-Interrupt Level. When you switch away, she stays on the field and becomes invulnerable. Interlude (Basic) triggers a Quick Assist on hit; after a Perfect Dodge, Chorus (Basic) does the same and makes Astra invulnerable during the attack.
Chord (Special) gives Astra one Chord per 25 Energy. While she has Chords in Idyllic Cadenza, the active character’s hits can trigger Quick Assists: once every 3 seconds for an attack or once every second for a heavy attack. Quickly switch after a Quick Assist to trigger a Precise Assist and Astra’s three Tone Clusters.
When a teammate enters through a Quick Assist, Chain Attack, Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, Astra spends 25 Energy on a Tremolo. This also triggers Core Passive: Graceful Andante, giving both characters ATK for 20 seconds, extendable to 30 seconds. Hold Finale (Basic) to leave the state; with enough Energy, it adds a Tremolo and three Tone Clusters.
Tipsy Concerto (Chain) and Fantasian Sonata (Ultimate) also put Astra into Idyllic Cadenza. The Ultimate heals the squad and replaces the next two Quick Assists with Chain Attacks. Until both replacements are used, a squad member’s Chain Attack or Ultimate hit triggers a Quick Assist.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Astral Voice. Its two-piece effect gives 10% ATK, and its four-piece effect grants an Astral stack when a squad member enters through a Quick Assist. Each stack increases the incoming character’s DMG by 8%, up to three stacks for 15 seconds. Astra’s kit gives the team frequent chances to trigger it.
Moonlight Lullaby is another four-piece option. Its two-piece effect gives 20% Energy Regen, while its four-piece effect gives the squad 18% DMG for 25 seconds when a Support uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate. For the remaining two slots, use Swing Jazz for Energy Regen or Hormone Punk for 10% ATK.
Choose Percent ATK on discs 4 and 5. On disc 6, use Energy Regen or Percent ATK. Look for Percent ATK and then ATK in substats. Initial ATK determines the size of the Core Passive buff, which equals 35% of that stat and caps at 1,200.
Elegant Vanity is the first weapon choice. Eligible switches give Astra 5 Energy once every 5 seconds, and spending at least 25 Energy increases squad DMG by 10%, stacking twice. Kaboom the Cannon is an alternative that gives the squad stacking ATK when friendly units hit. Bashful Demon gives squad ATK after an EX Special Attack, though its Ice DMG bonus does not match Astra’s Ether attacks.
Leveling priority
Follow the game’s order: Core Passive: Graceful Andante first, then Windchimes & Oaths (Special) and Capriccio (Basic). The passive controls the ATK buff, while Special and Basic cover attacks you use as part of her rotation.
After those, level Tipsy Concerto (Chain), One Luminous Sky (Assist) and Mini Waltz (Dodge), in that order. Chain comes before Assist and Dodge in the game’s progression order.
For maximum ascension, gather 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Support Certification Seals, 32 Advanced Support Certification Seals and 30 Ruler Certification Seals. Maxing all skills needs 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Ether Chips, 75 Advanced Ether Chips, 250 Specialized Ether Chips, 5 Hamster Cage Passes, 9 Finale Dance Shoes and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Thunderous Dragon.
Mindscapes worth it
For team support, Art of Greed is a useful upgrade to consider first. It increases the Core Passive’s ATK buff by a further 19% and raises its cap by 400. Eligible switches in Idyllic Cadenza also add a Tremolo and three Tone Clusters once every 3 seconds.
12-Tone Equal Temperament is another useful team upgrade. Astra’s hits reduce the target’s All-Attribute RES by 6% per stack, up to three stacks for 30 seconds. Her Ultimate also grants each squad member one Song of Protection stack, which gives 1 second of invulnerability when consumed by an enemy attack.
We Are the World is worth considering if you want more damage from Astra herself: it doubles the multiplier of her Tremolo and Tone Cluster attacks in Idyllic Cadenza and raises their CRIT Rate by 80%. Interwoven Staff Notation and Proxy and Silk String add skill levels, but you can leave them aside if the specific effects above are your goal.
Teams
Bring an Attack, Anomaly or Rupture character to activate Additional Ability: Moonlit Frenzy. When Energy is consumed to trigger a Precise Assist or Finale (Basic), Astra follows up with an extra Tremolo and three Tone Clusters. Her buffs are not restricted to a single attribute, so the team does not need to match her Ether attribute.
Evelyn and Seed are Attack options named for Astra, with Fire and Electric attributes respectively. Miyabi is a Frost Anomaly option, while Yixuan is an Auric Ink Rupture option. Each meets the specialty condition for the additional ability.
For the remaining slot, consider a Stun character such as Trigger or Lighter. Caesar and Pan Yinhu are Defense options with sustain tags. Astra supplies squad damage buffs and healing from her Ultimate; choose the other roles around the teammate you want to keep active.
Common mistakes
Do not stay on Astra throughout Idyllic Cadenza just because she remains visible. She cannot move in that state, and switching lets a teammate fight while she stays invulnerable on the field. Watch for the Quick Assist prompt and switch promptly when you want a Precise Assist.
Do not ignore Energy. Chords and the Tremolo triggered by eligible switches each depend on 25 Energy. If you have none available, you lose those Chord-based Quick Assist opportunities until you build Energy again.
Do not build only for Astra’s personal Ether DMG if your goal is team support. Initial ATK affects her Core Passive buff, while Energy Regen helps supply the Energy her follow-ups need. Also remember that Finale (Basic) exits Idyllic Cadenza, so use it when you intend to leave the state.
