How the kit works
Before a fight, Freezing Beauty attacks an enemy and gives a 100% base chance to Freeze a random enemy for one turn after battle starts. A Frozen enemy cannot act and takes Ice Additional DMG equal to 50% of March 7th's ATK at the beginning of each turn. A base chance is not a guarantee.
Use The Power of Cuteness on the ally who needs protection. Its Shield absorbs damage equal to 57% of March 7th's DEF plus 760 and lasts three turns. If that ally has at least 30% HP, enemies are much more likely to attack them. Purify lets the Skill remove one debuff from its target, while Reinforce extends its Shield by one turn.
Girl Power immediately Counters an attacker after an enemy attacks a Shielded ally. The Counter deals Ice DMG equal to 100% of March 7th's ATK and can trigger twice each turn. Use Frigid Cold Arrow against one enemy when you do not need to apply a Shield; it deals Ice DMG equal to 100% of her ATK.
Glacial Cascade hits every enemy for Ice DMG equal to 150% of March 7th's ATK, with a 50% base chance to Freeze each hit enemy for one turn. Its Freeze deals Ice Additional DMG equal to 60% of her ATK at the beginning of each turn. Ice Spell increases the Ultimate's base Freeze chance by 15%.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Self-Enshrouded Recluse for stronger Shields. Its two-piece effect increases provided Shield Effect by 10%; the four-piece effect adds 12% and gives an ally 15% CRIT DMG while they have a Shield from the wearer. Knight of Purity Palace is another defensive option: its two-piece effect gives 15% DEF, and four pieces increase the maximum damage absorbed by the wearer's Shields by 20%.
For Planar Ornaments, Broken Keel gives 10% Effect RES and grants all allies 10% CRIT DMG when March 7th reaches 30% Effect RES. Belobog of the Architects is an alternative for a stronger DEF-based Shield: it gives 15% DEF and another 15% at 50% Effect Hit Rate or higher.
Inherently Unjust Destiny is a top Light Cone option, with 40% DEF for the Shield. It also gives the wearer 40% CRIT DMG for two turns after they Shield an ally. Journey, Forever Peaceful increases provided Shield Effect by 12% and gives an ally with a Shield 12% more DMG. Moment of Victory gives 24% DEF and 24% Effect Hit Rate, but also makes March 7th more likely to be attacked; consider that when deciding who should draw hits.
For main stats, choose DEF Percentage or Effect Hit Rate on the body, SPD or DEF Percentage on the feet, and DEF Percentage on both the sphere and rope. For substats, look for DEF Percentage first, then SPD, Effect Hit Rate and Effect RES. DEF strengthens the Shield, while Effect Hit Rate supports her attempts to Freeze.
Leveling priority
Follow the game's order: level The Power of Cuteness first for the Shield, then Glacial Cascade for its attack and Freeze. Next comes Frigid Cold Arrow, followed by Girl Power. The Basic and Counter deal damage, but the Shield is the reason to put the Skill first.
For maximum ascension, gather 246,400 Credit, 50 Horn of Snow, 12 Thief's Instinct, 13 Usurper's Scheme and 12 Conqueror's Will. Raising all skills to the maximum takes 2,400,000 Credit, 5 Tracks of Destiny, 12 Endurance of Bronze, 54 Oath of Steel, 105 Safeguard of Amber, 12 Destroyer's Final Road, 28 Thief's Instinct, 42 Usurper's Scheme and 42 Conqueror's Will.
Eidolons worth it
For a protection-focused build, Just Like This, Always... is worth considering first. Allies protected by the Skill's Shield restore HP equal to 4% of their Max HP plus 106 at the beginning of each turn. The healing belongs to the Skill's Shield, so keep that Shield on the ally who needs it.
Never Forfeit Again is a good option if you want more Counter damage: it allows one more Talent trigger each turn and adds damage equal to 30% of March 7th's DEF to the Counter. Memory of It is useful at the start of battle, giving the ally with the lowest HP percentage a three-turn Shield equal to 24% of her DEF plus 320.
Memory of You gives March 7th 6 Energy whenever her Ultimate Freezes a target. Memory of Everything raises Ultimate and Basic levels, so it can be a lower priority if your concern is protection. Never Forget Again raises Skill and Talent levels; consider it if you want to improve both.
Teams
A starting team to consider is Clara, Pela and Natasha alongside March 7th. Clara gives the team a Physical Destruction character, Pela brings Ice and a debuffer role, and Natasha provides sustain. Shielding Clara can make enemies more likely to attack her while her HP is at least 30%; adjust the target if someone else needs protection or a debuff removed.
Herta is another Ice option, while Tingyun can take a buffer slot. If you use Penacony, Land of the Dreams, its two-piece effect gives other Ice allies 10% more DMG and March 7th 5% Energy Regeneration Rate. Remember that her own Shield covers one ally at a time, so a separate sustain character is worth considering when the rest of the team needs healing.
Common mistakes
Do not treat the extra chance to be attacked as unconditional. It applies when the Skill's target has at least 30% HP. Check that threshold before relying on the Shield to draw attacks, and remember that Moment of Victory changes the wearer's chance of being attacked too.
Do not expect every Ultimate or Technique to Freeze: their listed chances are base chances. Build Effect Hit Rate if you want more help landing Freeze, but keep DEF in your build for the Shield. Also check the requirements on Planar Ornaments: Broken Keel needs 30% Effect RES for its team CRIT DMG, while Belobog of the Architects needs 50% Effect Hit Rate for its extra DEF.
