Guide
How the kit works
Start by applying an element to opponents with a teammate. Compound Sedation Field deals AoE Anemo DMG and creates a wind current that pulls in nearby opponents and objects. If it hits an opponent affected by Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro, it also applies a Sedation Mark. The supplied skill description does not specify another effect for the mark.
Use Airborne Disease Prevention to gain 80 Nightsoul points and enter Nightsoul’s Blessing. Ifa hovers in this state. Tap or hold Normal Attack to use different versions of Supporting Fire and shoot Tonicshots capable of healing all party members.
Field Medic’s Vision counts the current Nightsoul points of the entire party while Ifa is in Nightsoul’s Blessing. Each point gives him one Rescue Essentials point, strengthening the listed reactions for nearby teammates. A nearby party member’s Nightsoul Burst also gives Ifa 80 Elemental Mastery for 10 seconds through Mutual Aid Agreement.
Hold the skill while hovering to perform a Nightsoul-aligned Plunging Attack. Release it to interrupt the plunge and keep hovering; landing ends Nightsoul’s Blessing. Outside that state, Rite of Dispelling Winds (NA) provides Anemo Normal Attacks and an AoE Charged Attack.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Viridescent Venerer as the first choice. It increases Swirl DMG by 60% and lowers the opponent’s RES to the element infused in Swirl by 40% for 10 seconds. Its Stellar Swirl effects include a 20% reaction DMG increase and a 40% Cryo RES reduction.
Four pieces of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City are another option. When Ifa triggers an appropriate reaction, the set grants nearby party members a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements involved. Triggering it during Nightsoul’s Blessing adds 28%. Gilded Dreams is a good alternative for a reaction-focused Ifa: its four-piece effect can grant Elemental Mastery based on teammates’ elements. Instructor can instead give the party 120 Elemental Mastery for 8 seconds after a reaction.
Choose Elemental Mastery on the goblet, and Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge on the sands. Use Elemental Mastery or Healing Bonus on the circlet, depending on whether you want to focus on reactions or healing. For substats, look for Elemental Mastery first, then Energy Recharge, CRIT Rate, ATK Percentage and CRIT DMG.
Sunny Morning Sleep-In is the first weapon choice: its effects grant Elemental Mastery after Swirl or Stellar Swirl, a skill hit and a Burst hit. A Thousand Floating Dreams is another strong option, with bonuses based on teammates’ elements. Starcaller’s Watch grants 100 Elemental Mastery; its active-character DMG bonus requires Ifa himself to create a shield.
For a 4-star option, consider Etherlight Spindlelute for Elemental Mastery after using the skill, or Sacrificial Fragments for a chance to reset the skill’s cooldown after it deals damage. Favonius Codex is worth considering for Energy, though its particle effect requires a CRIT hit.
Leveling priority
A suggested order is Airborne Disease Prevention first for the Tonicshots Ifa uses while hovering, then Compound Sedation Field for his Burst. Leave Rite of Dispelling Winds (NA) until last if you spend most of his field time in Nightsoul’s Blessing.
For ascension, gather Mora, Saurian Claw Succulent, Sparkless Statue Core and the Vayuda Turquoise materials from Sliver through Gemstone. You also need Juvenile Fang, Seasoned Fang and Tyrant’s Fang.
Talents use Mora, the same three Fang materials, Teachings of Conflict, Guide to Conflict, Philosophies of Conflict and Ascended Sample: Rook. Crown of Insight is needed for the final talent level.
Constellations worth it
Guiding Spirit of Ballistic Prayer is the standout upgrade. While Ifa is in Nightsoul’s Blessing, each party Nightsoul point above a total of 60 gives him four additional Rescue Essentials points. It also raises the Rescue Essentials limit by 50, making the party’s Nightsoul points more valuable to his reaction support.
Oath on a Feathered Knot gives held Supporting Fire a 50% chance to fire an extra Tonicshot, dealing Anemo DMG equal to 120% of Ifa’s ATK as Normal Attack DMG. Its reduced Nightsoul point and Phlogiston consumption applies only outside combat.
C1 provides Ifa with 6 Energy when Supporting Fire hits, once every 8 seconds. C3 and C5 raise the skill and Burst levels respectively. C4 extends the Burst’s wind current to 3 seconds and gives Ifa 100 Elemental Mastery for 15 seconds after using it. These are useful options, but you can play the reaction-support role without them.
Common mistakes
Do not switch to Ifa expecting Tonicshot healing before entering Nightsoul’s Blessing. Use the skill first, then tap or hold Normal Attack for Supporting Fire. If you want to keep hovering, release the held skill before the plunge reaches the ground.
Do not assume the RES reduction from Viridescent Venerer covers every element at once. It depends on the element infused in Swirl, and RES debuffs of the same elemental type do not stack. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s bonuses from sets with the same name do not stack either.
After Ifa exhausts his Nightsoul points, he can use Phlogiston to maintain Nightsoul’s Blessing. His emergency Phlogiston healing passive only works in areas with Phlogiston mechanics in Natlan, and not in Domains, Trounce Domains or the Spiral Abyss. Do not plan around that emergency heal in those activities.
