Guide
How the kit works
Start with Unforeseen Strike to enter Masterstroke. In this state Lohen can actively accumulate Joy for his special skill, while nearby party members build Will to Win for him by dealing damage. Lohen can use the special skill up to three times per Masterstroke; after the third use, he can no longer accumulate Joy in that instance.
The special skill benefits from Will to Win and consumes it when it hits. Manifest Judgment consumes all remaining Will to Win for stronger Cryo damage. Using the Burst during Masterstroke extends that state by 1.65 seconds, so pay attention to how much Will to Win is available before spending it.
When a nearby teammate's damage accumulates Will to Win, a hit of at least 3,000% of Lohen's Base ATK gives an extra 60 Will to Win. During Masterstroke, another party member triggering a Cryo Reaction grants that character and Lohen 15% ATK for 8 seconds.
After Lohen completes Witch's Homework: Of Various Foes, a party with at least two Hexerei characters gains Hexerei: Secret Rite. If his Will to Win is at least half its maximum when the special skill hits or the Burst is unleashed, his Normal and Charged Attack damage increases by 40% for 6 seconds.
Build and why
Use four pieces of A Day Carved From Rising Winds. Two pieces give 18% ATK, and four give another 25% ATK for 6 seconds after an attack, skill or Burst hits. Once Lohen has completed Witch's Homework, the four-piece effect also gives him 20% CRIT Rate.
Shimenawa's Reminiscence is an alternative for Normal and Charged Attacks: its four-piece effect spends 15 Energy when casting a skill if at least that much is available, then raises Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack damage by 50% for 10 seconds. Blizzard Strayer offers CRIT Rate against enemies affected by Cryo, with more against Frozen enemies. Disenchantment in Deep Shadow is another option for a team using Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct.
Choose ATK Percentage on the sands, Cryo DMG Bonus or ATK Percentage on the goblet, and CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate or ATK Percentage on the circlet. For substats, look for CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate and ATK Percentage. Balance the two CRIT stats around what your set and weapon already provide.
Disaster and Remorse is the first weapon to consider. After using a skill, it gives 40% Normal and Charged Attack damage and 40% Skill and Burst damage for 3 seconds each. Primordial Jade Winged-Spear builds ATK on hits and gives a damage bonus at full stacks. Staff of Homa gives ATK based on the wielder's Max HP, with a larger bonus below 50% HP.
Leveling priority
A suggested talent order is Unforeseen Strike, Manifest Judgment, then Normal Attack. The skill is at the center of his rotation, the Burst spends Will to Win for Cryo damage, and Normal Attacks remain useful when you use them during Masterstroke.
For maximum ascension, collect 420,000 Mora, 168 Etherwing Moth, 46 Prismatic Severed Tail, one Shivada Jade Sliver, nine Shivada Jade Fragment, nine Shivada Jade Chunk and six Shivada Jade Gemstone. You also need 18 Firm Arrowhead, 30 Sharp Arrowhead and 36 Weathered Arrowhead.
For all three talents at maximum, collect 4,957,500 Mora, nine Teachings of Resistance, 63 Guide to Resistance, 114 Philosophies of Resistance, three Crown of Insight and 18 Ascended Sample: Knight. Talents also need 18 Firm Arrowhead, 66 Sharp Arrowhead and 93 Weathered Arrowhead.
Constellations worth it
C2 is the standout upgrade. After the special skill hits or the Burst is unleashed during Masterstroke, the next Normal or Charged Attack hit triggers an AoE Cryo strike worth 500% ATK. It also gives other nearby party members 200 Elemental Mastery for 8 seconds. The follow-up can trigger once every 4 seconds.
C1 raises the maximum Will to Win to 300% of its original limit, and damage from other nearby party members during Masterstroke accumulates 500% as much Will to Win as before. It is worth considering if you want more room to build that resource.
At C4, a Burst used during Masterstroke gets the maximum Will to Win damage increase. Entering Masterstroke also provides 15 Energy, either immediately if Energy is not full or after a Burst used within 15 seconds if it was full.
C6 is another upgrade to consider: the special skill gains two extra uses per Masterstroke, and the special skill hit or Burst can leave Will to Win unconsumed while maxing Joy. The next special skill hit can extend Masterstroke by 1.25 seconds, with that effect triggering once every 7 seconds. C3 and C5 raise skill levels by three; you can leave them for later if their level increases are not your goal.
Common mistakes
Do not spend Will to Win without watching the rest of the rotation. Both the special skill and Burst benefit from it, and the Burst consumes everything remaining. Time teammate damage during Masterstroke so there is a resource to spend.
Do not expect the Hexerei Normal and Charged Attack bonus without completing Witch's Homework and meeting both its party and Will to Win conditions. Likewise, do not count on the extra CRIT Rate from A Day Carved From Rising Winds before completing Witch's Homework.
If you use Shimenawa's Reminiscence, account for its 15 Energy cost when the effect triggers. If you use Blizzard Strayer, remember that its extra Frozen bonus depends on the enemy being Frozen, not merely affected by Cryo.
