Guide
How the kit works
Start Chasca's turn with Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt. It deals AoE Anemo damage, gives her 80 Nightsoul points and puts her in Nightsoul's Blessing. She mounts her weapon, gains Movement SPD and interruption resistance, and stays airborne while points last.
Hold her attack in this state to aim and load up to six Shadowhunt Shells. Release early to fire what you have loaded, or wait for all six. They fire in reverse loading order. Slots four through six convert according to the number of Pyro, Hydro, Cryo and Electro teammates; their converted element is chosen from the eligible elements in the party.
Bullet Trick can also convert the third shell. With one, two or three different eligible elements, its conversion chance is 33.3%, 66.7% or 100%. Those different elements also grant stacks that increase converted shell damage by 15%, 35% or 65%. A tap attack is an alternative that deals Anemo damage counted as Normal Attack damage.
Use Soul Reaper's Fatal Round when available. Its first shot deals AoE Anemo damage and splits into six shells; each eligible teammate converts two of them. Intent to Cover fires another shot when a nearby teammate triggers a Nightsoul Burst. While airborne, hold the Skill to plunge; release it before landing to stay in the air.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Obsidian Codex for Chasca's personal damage. Its two-piece effect gives 15% damage while she is on the field in Nightsoul's Blessing. Spending a Nightsoul point on the field gives her 40% CRIT Rate for six seconds with the four-piece effect.
Four pieces of Viridescent Venerer are a team-oriented alternative: a Swirl reduces the target's resistance to the infused element by 40% for ten seconds. Four pieces of Shimenawa's Reminiscence give 50% Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack damage for ten seconds after the Skill, provided Chasca has at least 15 Energy to spend. That cost competes with her Burst.
Choose ATK Percentage on the sands and goblet, with CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate on the circlet. ATK Percentage on the goblet benefits a build that deals several elements rather than just Anemo. Look for CRIT DMG, ATK Percentage and CRIT Rate in substats, followed by Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery. Account for the CRIT Rate from Obsidian Codex when choosing pieces.
Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage is the first weapon choice: it gives ATK after Swirl or Stellar Swirl and boosts Charged Attack and Burst damage with different elements in the party. The First Great Magic boosts Charged Attacks, while Aqua Simulacra gives damage when opponents are nearby. For a four-star option, consider Flower-Wreathed Feathers, whose Charged Attack bonus builds while using Aimed Shots.
Leveling priority
A sensible leveling order is Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt first, because it provides the shells Chasca repeatedly fires on the field. Raise Soul Reaper's Fatal Round next for its initial hit and follow-up shells.
Leave Phantom Feather Flurry (NA) until last if you mostly use the Skill's held attack. The shells count as Charged Attack damage, but they belong to the Skill rather than her ordinary bow attack.
For ascension, Chasca needs Mora, Withering Purpurbloom, Ensnaring Gaze, the Vayuda Turquoise materials and the Juvenile Fang, Seasoned Fang and Tyrant's Fang drops. Her talents also need Mora and those Fang drops, along with Teachings of Conflict, Guide to Conflict, Philosophies of Conflict, Silken Feather and Crown of Insight.
Constellations worth it
Muzzle, the Searing Smoke is the standout upgrade. Chasca gains a stack of Spirit of the Radiant Shadow when she takes the field, and a converted shell can deal extra AoE damage equal to 400% of her ATK once per Multitarget Fire. That extra damage counts as Charged Attack damage.
Showdown, the Glory of Battle is worth considering for its faster charging. After Spiritbinding Conversion triggers, the next Multitarget Fire within three seconds charges instantly and its shells gain 120% CRIT DMG. The effect can be gained once every three seconds.
Cylinder, the Restless Roulette is another useful option: when Spiritbinding Conversion triggers, it also converts the second shell. It raises the conversion chance by 33.3%, up to 100%, and cuts out-of-combat Nightsoul and Phlogiston consumption by 30%.
You can use the base kit without constellations. If you want to stop at an earlier upgrade, consider stopping at C2: Sparks, the Sudden Shot adds Energy and damage to converted Burst shells, while Brim, the Sandshadow's Silhouette raises the Burst's level.
Teams
A good starting team is Chasca with Bennett, Furina and Citlali. Their Pyro, Hydro and Cryo elements fill the three eligible slots and give Bullet Trick its guaranteed third-shell conversion. Furina can heal and work off-field, while Citlali can provide a shield.
Ororon is an Electro option if you want a different eligible element and an off-field teammate. Escoffier is a Cryo healer to consider in a slot that needs healing. Check the elements of the whole party rather than counting how many different elements you apply during a fight.
Chasca gives the team on-field damage in several elements and can target opponents from the air. A Geo, Dendro or second Anemo teammate does not count toward her shell conversions, so weigh that lost conversion against whatever else the slot provides.
Common mistakes
Do not keep tapping when you mean to load shells. Hold the attack, aim at your targets and watch the loading before releasing. Leaving early fires fewer shells; the converted shells loaded last fire first.
Do not spend all your Nightsoul points sprinting or climbing without watching the gauge. Using Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt again ends the state, and landing a Skill plunge ends it too. Where Phlogiston is available, Chasca can consume it after her Nightsoul points run out.
Do not build only for Anemo damage while ignoring the converted shells, or stack CRIT Rate without accounting for Obsidian Codex. Also check whether an Energy-consuming set leaves you enough Energy for the Burst when you want it.
