Guide
How the kit works
Start with Eternal Tides to deal AoE Hydro DMG and summon Gravity Ripple. The ripple follows the active character and continuously damages nearby enemies with Hydro. At Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam, it covers a wider area.
While Gravity Ripple is active, nearby party members' Lunar reactions and Lunar Reaction DMG build Gravity. At the limit, the resulting damage depends on which Lunar reaction accumulated the most Gravity. When Gravity Interference triggers, Columbina also gains 5% CRIT Rate for 10 seconds, up to three stacks.
Use Moonlit Melancholy to deal AoE Hydro DMG and create Lunar Domain. Inside it, Lunar-Charged lightning strikes have a 33% chance of an extra strike, while each Moondrift has a 33% chance of an extra attack when Moondrift Harmony triggers. Lunar-Bloom can give the party up to three Moonridge Dews every 18 seconds.
Moondew Cascade (NA) provides Hydro Normal Attacks. If Columbina has at least one Verdant Dew, her Charged Attack becomes Moondew Cleanse: it consumes one Verdant Dew, costs no Stamina and deals three instances of AoE Dendro DMG in front of her. This counts as Lunar-Bloom DMG.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Silken Moon's Serenade for team support. Its two-piece bonus gives 20% Energy Recharge. After Columbina deals Elemental DMG, the four-piece effect gives the party 60 or 120 Elemental Mastery, depending on Moonsign, and can trigger off-field. It also increases the party's Lunar Reaction DMG by 10% for each different Gleaming Moon effect present; effects of the same name do not stack.
Four pieces of Aubade of Morningstar and Moon focus on Columbina's Lunar Reaction DMG: the set gives 20% while she is off-field and another 40% at Ascendant Gleam. A third option is Night of the Sky's Unveiling, which grants CRIT Rate when nearby teammates trigger Lunar reactions while its wearer is on-field.
For main stats, choose HP Percentage or Energy Recharge on the sands, HP Percentage on the goblet, and CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate on the circlet. Favor CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, HP Percentage and Energy Recharge in substats, in that order. HP supports her reaction Base DMG bonus; the critical stats help her damage.
Nocturne's Curtain Call is the first weapon choice. It raises Max HP and, after a Lunar reaction or Lunar Reaction DMG, gives more Max HP, Lunar Reaction CRIT DMG and Energy, even off-field. Sacrificial Jade is another option: after more than five seconds off-field, it grants Max HP and Elemental Mastery. Reliquary of Truth offers CRIT Rate and rewards skill use and Lunar-Bloom DMG.
Leveling priority
A practical leveling order is Eternal Tides, then Moonlit Melancholy, then Moondew Cascade (NA). The skill contributes damage while Columbina is off-field, and the Burst creates the domain her teams use. Give Normal Attacks more attention if you regularly use Moondew Cleanse. The reaction Base DMG bonus comes from her passive, so do not assume these talent levels raise it.
For ascension, collect Winter Icelea, Radiant Antler, the Varunada Lazurite materials, Slime Condensate, Slime Secretions, Slime Concentrate and Mora. Talents also need Teachings of Moonlight, Guide to Moonlight, Philosophies of Moonlight, Mask of the Virtuous Doctor and Crown of Insight, along with Slime materials and Mora.
Constellations worth it
Not in Lone Splendor is worth considering for a Lunar team: it increases Gravity accumulation by 34%, grants Columbina 40% Max HP for eight seconds after Gravity Interference, and raises nearby party members' Lunar Reaction DMG by 7%. At Ascendant Gleam, it also gives the active character ATK, Elemental Mastery or DEF according to the dominant Lunar reaction.
Through Darkness Led by Moonlight is another large upgrade to consider. For eight seconds after a Lunar reaction in Lunar Domain, party members gain 80% CRIT DMG for the corresponding Elemental DMG. It also raises nearby party members' Lunar Reaction DMG by 7%.
Radiance Over Blossoms and Peaks triggers an effect equivalent to Gravity Interference when the skill is used, once every 15 seconds. At Ascendant Gleam, Gravity Interference can give Energy, interruption resistance or a shield, depending on the dominant reaction. Dreamlike Glow Across Tranquil Waters and Silence Tending One Lone Song are reasonable stopping points to skip if you do not want more skill or Burst levels.
Common mistakes
Do not stay on Columbina for too long with Aubade of Morningstar and Moon: its four-piece Lunar Reaction bonus disappears after she has been active for three seconds. With Silken Moon's Serenade, check the rest of the team's sets so you do not duplicate the same Gleaming Moon effect.
Do not treat the passive's 7% limit as a cap on every benefit of Max HP. Each 1,000 Max HP increases Lunar Reaction Base DMG by 0.2% up to that limit, but Max HP can still matter for other effects. Do not expect the special Charged Attack without Verdant Dew, or the Lunar Domain bonuses when reactions happen outside the domain.
