Guide
How the kit works
Start with Rechitativ: Sonorous Dawn. It deals AoE Hydro DMG and activates Song of Ages Past. During that effect, the Horn of Spring's Call periodically moves toward an opponent and attacks with Hydro DMG. Both the initial Skill hit and the Horn's attacks lower the Hydro RES and Cryo RES of opponents they hit.
Song of Ages Past also periodically heals the active character based on Vodyanitsa's Max HP and gives that character increased resistance to interruption. While it is active, use Koda: Sink With Thee for increased AoE Hydro DMG, then switch to the teammate you want on the field.
The Last Djeguako Songstress changes any Stellar Vortex already on the field into a Wandering Vortex when you use the Skill. While Song of Ages Past is active, nearby teammates' Stellar Swirl reactions generate Wandering Vortex instead. Generating or detonating one lowers nearby opponents' Anemo RES by 35% for 6 seconds. Nearby teammates who enter Radiance: Stellar Swirl during Song of Ages Past also have that state extended by 4 seconds.
Psyshkhwe Arietta (NA) has up to four Hydro hits; its Charged Attack consumes Stamina and its Plunging Attack deals AoE Hydro DMG on impact. Dirge of the Fandyr grants 25 Lead Vocal and 10 Chorus stacks on Skill use, each lasting 30 seconds and refreshing when the Skill is used again. Outside combat, hold the Skill to swim in Water Imp form for up to 10 seconds, including across the water's surface. It consumes Stamina.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Tenacity of the Millelith for a team-focused build. Two pieces give 20% HP. When her Skill hits an opponent, four pieces give nearby party members 20% ATK and 30% Shield Strength for 3 seconds. The effect can trigger while Vodyanitsa is off-field, so the Horn can keep contributing after you switch.
For another option, four pieces of Vourukasha's Glow give 20% HP and increase Skill and Burst DMG by 10%. Taking damage increases that damage bonus for 5 seconds, with up to five stacks. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is a team option: after its wearer triggers a reaction related to their element, nearby teammates gain a 12% DMG Bonus for the elements involved for 15 seconds.
The game's build uses HP Percentage on the sands, goblet and circlet. Look for HP Percentage first and HP second in substats. More Max HP improves the Skill's healing, while the four-piece Tenacity effect gives the team an ATK increase.
Hymn of the Maelstrom is the first weapon choice. It gives Healing Bonus, and healing grants an effect that increases Max HP. It also increases the active character's ATK based on the wielder's Max HP above 40,000, up to 8% ATK. Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is the next option: switch from Vodyanitsa to the teammate who wants its 24% ATK increase. Prototype Amber follows, restoring Energy to Vodyanitsa and HP to the whole party after she uses her Burst.
Leveling priority
A good leveling order is Rechitativ: Sonorous Dawn, then Koda: Sink With Thee, then Psyshkhwe Arietta (NA). The Skill handles periodic healing and repeated attacks, while the Burst gives her another AoE hit. Normal Attacks are less important for a build that switches to a teammate after setup.
For maximum ascension, gather 420,000 Mora, 168 Frostfairy Flower, 1 Varunada Lazurite Sliver, 9 Varunada Lazurite Fragment, 9 Varunada Lazurite Chunk and 6 Varunada Lazurite Gemstone. You also need 18 Chimeric Core, 30 Symbiotic Chimeric Nucleus, 36 Prime Chimeric Nexus and 46 Unscorched Blossom Branch.
To maximize all three talents, the total is 4,957,500 Mora, 3 Crown of Insight, 9 Teachings of Fortitude, 63 Guide to Fortitude and 114 Philosophies of Fortitude. Gather another 18 Chimeric Core, 66 Symbiotic Chimeric Nucleus, 93 Prime Chimeric Nexus and 18 Madman's Restraint for the talents.
Constellations worth it
Echoes That Pierce the Snow is the standout upgrade. A Horn hit gives the active character 50% CRIT DMG for Hydro and Cryo damage for 5 seconds. If a Wandering Vortex is present, or during the 5 seconds after one explodes, the effect changes to 60% CRIT DMG for Stellar Swirl reaction damage instead. It also extends Song of Ages Past by 9 seconds.
Neverending Song of Revelry makes the C2 effect apply to all nearby party members. While Song of Ages Past is active, it also increases nearby party members' Stellar Swirl reaction DMG by 25% and their Hydro and Cryo DMG by 60%.
Waters in Full Splendor adds an ATK buff for all nearby party members whenever Song of Ages Past heals: 0.8% of Vodyanitsa's Max HP for 5 seconds. Melancholic Voice Upon the Gentle Waters increases healing when the healed character is below 40% HP; at 40% HP or above, it instead grants Vodyanitsa a stacking Max HP increase.
You can leave C3 and C5 as lower priorities if those support effects are what you want. They add three levels to the Skill and Burst respectively rather than introducing a separate team buff.
Common mistakes
Do not use the Burst before the Skill if you want its increased damage from Song of Ages Past. Make sure the Skill hits the opponents whose Hydro or Cryo RES you want to reduce, then switch to the teammate who can use that opening.
Do not treat the periodic healing as healing for the whole party. It targets the active character. Likewise, interruption resistance helps that character stay in action, but it is not a shield.
Do not build only for Vodyanitsa's Normal Attacks if you want her as an HP-based support. Prioritize the HP stats and let the team set or weapon provide the extra support. With Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, pay attention to which character you switch to: that character receives the ATK buff.
In a Stellar Swirl team, watch for Wandering Vortex rather than assuming the Anemo RES reduction is always active. At C2, remember that the CRIT DMG effect changes when the Vortex condition is met; the Hydro and Cryo bonus is not added on top of the Stellar Swirl version.
