Guide
How the kit works
Use Icefang Rush to move forward and enter Chilling Penalty, then attack with Forceful Fists of Frost (NA). The state increases interruption resistance and strengthens Normal Attacks while Wriothesley's HP is above 50%. Those hits consume HP, at most once every 0.1 seconds. Chilling Penalty ends if he leaves the field.
His Normal Attack string has up to five Cryo hits. Using the Skill or sprinting does not immediately reset the combo, so you can reposition and continue it. Below 60% HP, his passive grants Gracious Rebuke once every 5 seconds. The next Charged Attack costs no Stamina, deals 50% increased damage and restores 30% of his Max HP when it hits.
While Chilling Penalty is active, each increase or decrease in his HP grants a Prosecution Edict stack. Each stack gives 6% ATK, up to five stacks. Use Darkgold Wolfbite for multiple instances of frontal AoE Cryo damage; it also sends an Ousia-aligned Cryo hit down after Icicle Impact.
For Radiance: Stellar-Conduct, his other passive changes the enhanced Charged Attack: it costs no Stamina and restores 30% Max HP on hit, with healing available once every 2 seconds. The specified third and fifth enhanced Normal hits deal 60% and 80% of their original Cryo damage as Stellar-Conduct damage, while the enhanced Charged Attack deals 100% of its original AoE Cryo damage as Stellar-Conduct damage. Wriothesley deals 30% increased Stellar-Conduct damage, and enters the state inside a Polestar Field.
Build and why
For a team using Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct, consider four pieces of Disenchantment in Deep Shadow first. The set increases ATK by 18%, Superconduct damage by 80% and Stellar-Conduct damage by 40%. It also gives an attack 16% CRIT Rate against an opponent affected by either reaction.
Four pieces of Marechaussee Hunter are the next recommendation and fit his ordinary HP-changing attack pattern. Two pieces increase Normal and Charged Attack damage by 15%; the four-piece effect gives 12% CRIT Rate for 5 seconds each time HP changes, up to three stacks. Blizzard Strayer is another option: its CRIT Rate bonus depends on attacking an enemy affected by Cryo or Frozen.
Use ATK Percentage on the sands, Cryo DMG Bonus on the goblet, and CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate on the circlet. For substats, look first for CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate, followed by ATK Percentage. Elemental Mastery is useful to consider in reaction teams, while Energy Recharge helps with Burst availability. Account for your set's CRIT Rate before choosing the circlet.
Cashflow Supervision is the first weapon choice. HP changes stack its Normal, Charged and Stellar-Conduct damage bonuses, and three stacks also increase ATK SPD. Tulaytullah's Remembrance increases Normal Attack SPD and builds Normal Attack damage after the Skill. Reliquary of Truth gives CRIT Rate and Elemental Mastery after the Skill; its CRIT DMG effect requires dealing Lunar-Bloom damage.
For a four-star option, consider Clash of Kings. Its Skill effect gives ATK and Elemental Mastery for 6 seconds, and a Charged Attack hit can extend it by another 6 seconds. The Widsith is another option, though its effect gives one of three random bonuses.
Leveling priority
A good leveling order is Forceful Fists of Frost (NA), then Icefang Rush, then Darkgold Wolfbite. The attacks are used throughout his field time, the Skill strengthens his Normal Attacks, and the Burst adds a separate group of hits.
For maximum ascension, gather 420,000 Mora, 168 Subdetection Unit, 1 Shivada Jade Sliver, 9 Shivada Jade Fragment, 9 Shivada Jade Chunk, 6 Shivada Jade Gemstone, 18 Meshing Gear, 30 Mechanical Spur Gear, 36 Artificed Dynamic Gear and 46 Tourbillon Device.
To raise all three skills to their maximum, you also need 4,957,500 Mora, 3 Crown of Insight, 9 Teachings of Order, 63 Guide to Order, 114 Philosophies of Order, 18 Meshing Gear, 66 Mechanical Spur Gear, 93 Artificed Dynamic Gear and 18 Primordial Greenbloom. His crafting passive has a 10% chance to double the product when crafting Weapon Ascension Materials.
Constellations worth it
Terror for the Evildoers is the standout upgrade. During Chilling Penalty, the fifth Normal Attack can grant Gracious Rebuke. The interval between charges falls to 2.5 seconds, the enhanced Charged Attack's damage bonus rises to 200%, and a hit can extend Chilling Penalty by 4 seconds once per state.
Punishment for the Frauds is worth considering for three levels on his Normal Attack talent. Esteem for the Innocent strengthens Rebuke: Vaulting Fist with 10% CRIT Rate, 80% CRIT DMG and an extra icicle. Shackles for the Arrogant and Mercy for the Wronged focus on Burst damage instead, so stopping at C1 is reasonable if your priority is his punches.
Common mistakes
Do not stay below 50% HP and expect the Skill's Normal Attack enhancement to keep working. At the same time, do not overlook the enhanced Charged Attack when its passive is available: landing it restores HP and costs no Stamina. A healer gives you another way to recover if you miss.
Do not swap Wriothesley out immediately after Icefang Rush, since Chilling Penalty ends when he leaves the field. When building him, check the conditions on your set: Disenchantment in Deep Shadow wants the relevant reactions, while Blizzard Strayer wants opponents affected by Cryo or Frozen. Do not count either set's conditional CRIT Rate as permanent.
