Guide
How the kit works
Start by throwing Baron Bunny with Explosive Puppet. It continuously taunts enemies and draws their fire. Hold the skill to adjust the direction and throw it farther. The bunny's HP scales with Amber's Max HP; it explodes for AoE Pyro DMG when destroyed or when its timer expires.
Follow with fully charged Aimed Shots from Sharpshooter (NA). Hit a weak point to activate Precise Shot, which gives Amber 15% ATK for 10 seconds. The normal attack can also fire up to five consecutive shots, while its plunging attack deals AoE DMG on impact.
Use Fiery Rain when you want continuous Pyro damage over an area. Every Arrow Finds Its Target gives the Burst 10% extra CRIT Rate and increases its AoE by 30%. These bonuses apply to the Burst, not to Amber's charged shots.
Outside combat, Gliding Champion reduces gliding Stamina consumption for your party by 20%. It does not stack with passive talents that provide the exact same effect.
Build and why
For charged shots, start with four pieces of Shimenawa's Reminiscence. Its two-piece bonus gives 18% ATK. When you cast your skill with at least 15 Energy, the four-piece effect consumes 15 Energy and increases Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG by 50% for 10 seconds. Plan around that Energy cost if you also want to use your Burst.
Four pieces of Wanderer's Troupe are another charged-shot option: they give 80 Elemental Mastery and 35% Charged Attack DMG to a Bow user. Martial Artist boosts Normal and Charged Attack DMG, with a further bonus for 8 seconds after the skill. You can also combine two pieces of Crimson Witch of Flames with two of Marechaussee Hunter for Pyro and charged-shot bonuses.
For a Burst-focused build, consider Emblem of Severed Fate: its two-piece bonus gives 20% Energy Recharge, and its four-piece bonus increases Burst DMG based on Energy Recharge. Noblesse Oblige is a team-oriented alternative; using a Burst with four pieces gives the party 20% ATK for 12 seconds, and the effect cannot stack.
For the suggested charged-shot build, use ATK Percentage or Elemental Mastery on the sands, Pyro DMG Bonus on the goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the circlet. Look for substats in this order: CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK Percentage, Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge.
Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage is the first weapon choice for charged shots. Its Charged Attack bonus depends on how many party members have a different element from Amber. The First Great Magic also boosts Charged Attack DMG and gives ATK based on same-element party members, counting Amber herself. Aqua Simulacra increases damage when opponents are nearby. For skill and Burst damage, Polar Star is another option: it increases both by 12%.
Leveling priority
For the charged-shot build, a sensible order is Sharpshooter (NA) first, Fiery Rain second and Explosive Puppet last. Your shots are the attacks you build around, while the Burst gives you another source of Pyro damage. You can give the skill more attention if you prefer playing around Baron Bunny.
Amber's ascension uses Mora, Small Lamp Grass, Everflame Seed, the Agnidus Agate materials and the Firm Arrowhead, Sharp Arrowhead and Weathered Arrowhead materials. Her talents also need Mora and those arrowheads, plus Teachings of Freedom, Guide to Freedom, Philosophies of Freedom, Dvalin's Sigh and Crown of Insight.
Constellations worth it
It's Not Just Any Doll... is the standout upgrade: it reduces Explosive Puppet cooldown by 20% and adds a second charge. That gives you more opportunities to place Baron Bunny during a fight.
Bunny Triggered is worth considering if you enjoy using the puppet. A fully charged Aimed Shot to Baron Bunny's foot detonates it manually, and that explosion deals 200% additional DMG. Wildfire (C6) is a team-focused option: Fiery Rain gives all party members 15% Movement SPD and 15% ATK for 10 seconds.
One Arrow to Rule Them All adds a second Aimed Shot arrow that deals 20% of the first arrow's DMG. It Burns! and It's Baron Bunny! add three levels to the Burst and skill respectively. You can leave these lower priority if their particular damage increases are less useful to your build.
Teams
For a charged-shot team, consider Cryo partners such as Citlali or Rosaria when you want to play around Melt. Citlali also brings a shield. An Anemo character such as Sucrose or Kaedehara Kazuha gives the team access to Swirl.
Bennett is an option for a second Pyro slot. Together with Citlali and Sucrose, he gives Amber a team with Cryo, shielding and Anemo. Sangonomiya Kokomi is a Hydro healer to consider for a team built around Vaporize instead.
Amber can also join another Pyro damage dealer such as Lyney or Hu Tao. In that setup, use her puppet and Burst for their Pyro damage, then let the other character take field time. A support set such as Noblesse Oblige gives her Burst a party ATK bonus as well.
Common mistakes
Don't shoot Baron Bunny's foot expecting an early explosion before you have Bunny Triggered. Without that upgrade, wait for the puppet to be destroyed or for its timer to expire. Even with it, the shot must be fully charged and hit the foot.
Don't assume every Aimed Shot deals Pyro DMG. Charge the arrow fully, and aim for weak points when you can to activate Precise Shot. Remember that the extra CRIT Rate from Every Arrow Finds Its Target applies only to Fiery Rain.
Don't spend Energy on the four-piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence effect without considering your Burst. Likewise, don't pick a weapon for an effect you cannot reliably use: Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage requires its wielder to trigger Swirl or Stellar Swirl for its ATK effect, while its charged-shot bonus has a separate party-element condition.
